NBA Hall Of Fame Inductions - Michael's speach last night

Whaddapie

I was really looking forward to listening to what the greatest ever had to say.

What a dissapointment.

He came off as a self important, gloating bully, still bitter about parts of his past, having needless pops at certain people who he felt needed putting in their place, rather than the gracious and humble people that Robinson, Stockton (who I hated) and Sloan were.

Such an occassion called for a more tactful and polished (did he even rehearse?) performance, which surprised me as it came from the bloke who ALWAYS had his "image" turned on during his playing days... When he (eventually) spoke to his kids, he blurted out something like "I wouldn't wanna be you guys..!"

What a shame.

It was like I was listening to Ryan.

What a dick.
Interesting too see the 'inside' guys saying he has always been like this.
Its funny how a star can have a public image and a completely different private one.

I'm about to read The Jordan Rules, which apparently expose him as an utter douche-bag, pretty much from day 1. It's not a new book, but I'd not been too interested in it until recently.

I'll let yiz know...

Don't do it Whadda.... don't do it! Jordan has always been an ass. I wrote an article in college that bashed him a little bit, pointing out he shoots more than any guard of his day, if other players shot as much as he did they'd outstcore him, the amount of foul calls he drew, etc.

The guys with Jordan boxer shorts on wanted to give me a beating. It was only in the student newspaper for crying out loud, not the NY Times.

I'm only a very casual follower of the NBA but I was amazed by this.

Grade A prick.

Do you think about me a lot Whaddapie?

That's cute.

Who would want to be his kids? Seriously ...

All the questions about 'dad' (ie, why are you my friend?), the pressure to be as good as him in anything etc ...

Rich black American sportsmen wear the worst suits imaginable don't they?

Linford Christie, John Barnes and Barry Venison had a good go too.

And what's with the earing ? Is he changing sports (again) ? Going to play for The Orlando Pirates ?

I also didn't think the speech was that terrible.

Theres no 'I' in team......."yes coach but theres an I in win"? Cant argue with that from Jordon.

Also a bit off topic and im not comparing Jordan to Phil Taylor...but theres one arrogant son of a bitch!!
