Moving to Germany

So it's been a while since my wife found out that she's been granted full scholarship and continuing her studies in the northern part of Germany for the next 2 years come 2017. We just got married last year in November and it has been clear that we'll both be going regardless of how new this will be for us, being far from familiar Asian faces. Long distance relationship won't be tolerated at this point seeing as I've grown frustrated at the lack of career growth being an Oil & Gas project engineer anyway (coffers dried up so there's no financial cushion in it anymore either) and I'm hoping this could turn out to be some renaissance for myself.

I've been slowly learning German and taking more interest in the news there. The job hunt's where I'm not sure where to start since I'm pretty clueless to what kind of jobs I can ease into (foreseeing the language barrier be a bigger hindrance than I'd like it to be) but I'm pretty open to whatever I can get.

With Brexit confusion and the backlash against migrants in mind, it would be very much appreciated if you fellas can share tips on what to expect with regards to living, working and the people there.

Thanks!
