Juventus midfielder Mohamed Sissoko has vented his frustration at his club and indicated he would like to move on, with England a possible destination.

A move back to the Barclays Premier League would, most likely, be with Aston Villa and the 25-year-old would relish the chance to end his Serie A hell.

Luigi Del Neri has made it clear Sissoko is a reserve player or back up to Felipe Melo, which was not something Sissoko signed up for when he left former club Liverpool.

And former Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier is an admirer of the Malian and is keen to bring his experience to Villa Park as he attempts to get Aston Villa out of their current slump.

Signed for Liverpool for £5 million in 2005, the Anfield club doubled their money three years later when they offloaded him to Juve.

His Liverpool career was dogged with injuries, although he holds the distinction of being the player that scored Liverpool’s 7000th league goal, and he would love to show the English fans what he can really do.

“You never know what you have. If you want to be sold, it will be on their terms,†Sissoko told Football365.fr.

“The directors wanted to sell me at the beginning of the year and sometimes they try to enter into agreements that I do not like.

“When competition is healthy, I do not have problems. But it is no longer the case.

†Del Neri will only pay attention to me when he needs me. Otherwise it is calculated. I do not want controversy, but I’m not a (commercial) good.

“If someone has disrespected, these are the leaders of Juve to me and vice versa. Accident? They know that they made a mistake with me and now they invent that I did not play against with Napoli because I refused to do so.

“But that is completely false. I did not play is because I have inflammation of the quadriceps and did not want to risk hurting myself.

“One day I’m sold, the next day I’m not. Melo gets three-match ban and I am no longer on the market.â€

Poulsen and Lucas.. Move out of the way for MIGHTY MOMO!

I posted in the transfer thread, I can't believe he is still only 25.

That shows how far we have plummeted , he would be miles better than Poulsen or Lucas (probably)

regards

Wasn't great even before that, apart from occasional big games like the one against Barca at the Nou Camp or the 2006 Cup Final.

I'd still play him in preference to either of those two though.

If he can still run around destroying play he'd make some sort of impact, which would make him an improvement, but if we are going to bring someone in, wouldn't it just be refreshing if we brought someone in of quality.

Alonso and Mascherano were our last two quality midfield signings and we haven't replaced either of them.

Certainly, and I think it's a priority for the summer at the latest, but one problem facing us just now is that real value is hard to find in the January window. If we want to sign big straight away, we'll have to pay extra big for it.

Absense makes the heart grow fonder, chaps.

Momo was one of the worst players to ever pull on a Red jersey. In my almost 40 years, anyway. He was abysmal.

It'd be worth signing Momo to play in a 3 man midfield with Poulson and Lucas, just to witness the inevitable breakdown into the jibbering wreck that would be Brendan.

We could all go visit him in hospital and take him signed "Pucas", "The Cunt" and "Brains" shirts and stuff.

"One of the worst players to pull on the jersey".

I'd have him before Lucas and Poulson any day of the week.

Sissoko put in some brilliant performances for us - the Derby when Gerrard got sent off, Juve, Barca, Chelsea, West Ham 3-3, etc - and whilst he may not have proved himself good enough in the long run, he doesn't deserve to take that sort of mindless shit.

It's not the slightest bit "mindless", Squiggles.

I thought he was one of the worst players I've ever seen at LFC. He had a handful of decent games. That's the best thing that I can say about his LFC career, I'm afraid.

Yes, Poulsen is possibly worse. But not Lucas. Not by a long shot. And Lucas really isn't very good at all.

Brains was criminally shit.

Fuck OFF.

Bren....just walk away slowly from this, this could be very dangerous for your mental health...........Momo v Lucas ...gulps

Those two would make him look like God.

Maybe my old memory is failing me, because I thought we all loved Momo because he was such a great ball-winner. It was only after we signed Mascherano that we discovered that it was possible for a midfielder to be a great ball winner and distribute the ball too. I think it was after that everyone decided Momo hadn't been very good.

I'm not convinced about this concept of a "defensive midfielder." I think midfielders should be good at defending and attacking. When Rafa played Lucas and Mascher as a pair of defensive midfielders, we never had much chance of scoring.

Your memory must be failing you mate, I distinctly remember a German defensive midfielder playing for us before Momo who could win the ball & distribute too.

Momo was limited talentwise, but on form he was a brilliant ball winner and covered huge amounts of ground for our midfield.

I personally have always thought the most impressive Benitez team we ever saw was the one in 05/06, where we lined up with Momo and Alonso in the centre of midfield, Gerrard on the right.

It wasn't the prettiest of football but we routinely bullied teams out of games, and it was a pleasure to see. We've gotten weaker, slower and less physical ever since.

I'd have to say that having Momo in midfield would be a much better option than what we have today.
If he was offered to us right now I'd nab him.

But going after former players that were deemed not good enough before is giving me all the wrong signals. Is this what we've become?

Somewhat desperate? Yep, pretty much.

I can't think of Momo without thinking of that vertical pass he did.

To himself.
[/quote]

Haha...
Personally I think of the game when he destroyed Chelsea.

Ha.

I had a soft spot for Momo, and he's fucking streets ahead of Lucas and Poulsen. Still, he wasn't great, but he could dominate and bully teams with his physicality. What can Lucas do to even nearly match that?

Momo was better than Lucas. Any day of the week. In fact, Biscan in his final season was better than Lucas.

Yeah I found it impossible to dislike momo.

I guess its easier to like someone who travels a fair amount of ground and is shit (momo) than a static poo (poulson)

He did absolutely boss some of the top teams though.

And one fairly crap one which nearly beat us in the Cup Final. Stevie gets all the kudos for that game and understandably so, but as the game approached the ninety minute mark it was Momo who was mainly keeping us in it, practically playing W.Ham on his own at times.

So we're all agreed we need a 5-1-4 formation as Momo is THAT good..

Reina

Johnson Kelly Carra Agger Aurelio

MOMO

Kuyt Torres N'Gog Babel
