Mo, is he Liverpool's best ever PL player?

Has he now surpassed Gerrard to become the Liverpool's best ever PL player?

I've said my thoughts on it in another thread, but it's still Gerrard by a fair margin, IMHO. If Salah signs a new deal and continues to contribute at this level throughout it then it becomes a conversation. I don't think we're there yet.

Can you share that post? I think Gerrard is still #1 - but why by a 'fair margin'?

I wonder if we put Gerrard in his pomp in the Liverpool side over Salah's reign does he win as much as Salah did? And if Salah goes into those Liverpool teams instead of Stevie, do they win as much?

Win the league and CL this season while breaking more individual records and it will be Mo surely?

I vote Gerrard but only cos there wasn't a Suarez choice. Between them they're in a world eleven of the last couple of decades. I suppose it would be quite attacking once we squeeze Messi and Ronaldo in, but with VVD and Ali at the back you could go top heavy.

Gerrard singlehandedly made us a good team. Sometimes literally a one man team. For that it's still Gerrard unless Salah gives us 2 more leagues before he leaves

Almost as ridiculous as saying Rush was a better PL player than Salah.
Salah will never score as many goals as Rushie for us. Even if he stays another 5 years. That record is inviolate. People don't remember, or are too young to remember, what an incredible goal scorer he was (way better finisher than Mo.) scoring some incredible goals.
It's the usual case of more recent players being elevated because of TV, social media and the constant barrage of people claiming it is so.

He would two more seasons at this rate then it could be doable if he stayed til 37. But Rush was insane and missed a full season in his prime.

If you were limiting it to PL only, and not PL-era but across all comps then yes. Salah and Virgil are the two best IMO. Gerrard third behind these two.

I'd rather if we compare Suarez's best season to Mo's - which was better.
I think that would be an even more interesting debate - though in light of the fact of what we're witnessing, it may not even be a debate by season's end.

I can’t see Suarez’s season ever been beaten he missed the start, scored wonder goal after wonder goal, multiple hat tricks. His only blemish was that he went missing against Chelsea, that’s it.
