Maybe we should have...

This video made me smile. Raul has always been one of my favorite players, I am so glad that he seems to be reborn at Schalke. Really seems to be enjoying himself, now that he is free from the burden of having to prove that he still has what it takes to compete for his place in Madrid. Felix Magath ultimately had an unsuccessful stint at Schalke, but if his savage physical training methods brought us back the Raul of 10 years ago, then it's all has been worth it.

He never looked like he'd lost his touch or goal scoring ability at Madrid, it just looked as though his legs were going. Maybe that's partly because a lot of the players around him were young and pacey though.

Spine tingling. Hopefully they win the whole thing.

That would be sweet.

What a player. What a man.

It's a bit ironic that two of the classiest players of our time, Raul and Casillas, come from Real Madrid.

Ha... That's quality, I thought he was more or less finished when he left Madrid, couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

If they win it by beating Real in the final it would be even sweeter...

True legend of the game. I'm glad his last years in the game are bringing him memories as enjoyable as his best years.

I remember suggesting that we signed him when he was leaving Madrid and being told by all-and-sundry that he was too old at 29. He'd have been a great signing for us.

Not sure about that, mate. I'd been a big fan of his but TBF I was one of those who thought he was too far gone for us then, and even now I'm not sure he would have done well here. He'd have been coming to a club in some turmoil, playing in a league which is a fair bit tougher than the Bundesliga.

I agree with JJ. I didn't want him, and was probably a bit disparaging actually, which was wrong. Still don't think he's a player for the PL.

German fans are ace by the way. I have such admiration for the organisation of club football in Germany, which doesn't price out young, ardent supporters.

Yea, it's true, he probably wouldn't have been a good signing for us. But he seems like a decent guy and if he puts united out of the champions league that would be just fantastic.
