Isnt it pathetic...
I am genuinely starting to feel that i would have been the better option. My coaching resume is nearly as well travelled as Roy's.
For 1 season i coached a bunch of 14 year old's in Outback Australia - None had ever watched a game or knew any of the rules..They all hated me - none of them would listen to me and eventually coached themselves.
I coached a Futsol team - managed to buy cheap kits that were all the same style and colour. We forfitted once. i got sent off 5 times. Lost in the final 3 years in a row.
In Wales i used to Watch Wrexham regularly when they played in DIV 2 - broke a door in my excitement watching Karl Connelly put 3 past Cardiff.- I Was even a mascot once :angel:
Played shit Grade Sunday Soccer from the age of 4 until my brittle tendons and ligaments decided my future was off the pitch at 26.. Played with a bunch of misfits - Kids called Rocket, Speedy, Terrier and Awesome. When in fact they were the exact opposite.
Shook Neville Southall + Ian Rush's hands after winning a 5 a side under 13 competition. Won the mightly North Wales under 15's Amature Div 2 cup.. once again shook Neville Southalls hand.. Took part in multiple Soccer schools run by famous Footballers between the age of 8-15 - cried because i didnt know anyone.. An ex Celtic player once told me that my eye for a pass was excellent - *This was after a hoofed a ball 50 yards because i didnt know what else to do*
i know i know... why didnt i put my hand up for the Liverpool position?? Well, Firstly - i didnt realise realise the target was so low until it was too late..
My preseason plan - which was regularly belittled on here by many was to scrap the whole squad as it was clear.. they were fucked and in need of a new adventure.
I was keen to get rid of Torres, Mascherano and Gerrard... But more importantly.. to see the back of Lucas, Babel, Insua, Reira, Benayoon.
So... Obviously there was concern that we may not challenge again as we were in desperate need to finish 4th again. This was quite possibly the only reason to keep hold of several ageing players.
Well... now we have unhappy players that are looking to jump ship and are likely to leave for half the fee we would have received last year. We look MILES away from even a top table finish..
i call for a revolution!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
