I didn't think this was that bad if anyone was interested and coming over for Crimbo

Book your matchday hospitality at the Isla Gladstone Conservatory to watch Liverpool v Wigan Athletic at Anfield on the 16th December and you'll receive a FREE child's place. It's a great way to treat the family this Christmas and experience our truly memorable matchday hospitality.

This special Christmas offer applies when one Adult place is booked for £165.

The package includes:

1 Adult and 1 Child ticket to watch Liverpool v Wigan Athletic at Anfield (Tickets located in the Upper Anfield Road Stand - wing section)
Match programme
Mulled wine reception drink (soft drink for the children)
Traditional Christmas dinner and mince pies
The chance to meet 2 LFC Legends
Goodie bags for the children presented to them by Santa
To receive this one off Christmas promotion you must book by calling 0151 263 9199. Online bookings will result in you not receiving the free child's place. Children must be 16yrs and under, proof of Date of Birth will be required.
We look forward to welcoming you to Anfield on the Day

Kind Regards,

That was them not me 😉

I'd be tempted if my flight back from London to Canada wasn't the 17th. Going to be back in London by the 16th.

Is the hospitality thing generally a more realistic chance to get match tickets (esp. for matches against better teams)?

This seems to be a one-off thing, and maybe it's because it's Wigan near the Christmas period when some of the corporate stuff is not being taken up to the same extent

But aren't there hospitality offers at every other match too?

Not Sure DWM, this one ended up in my email box, and it doesn't usually.
I think it is mainly aimed at corporate groups and certainly not an adult-and-child thing like this.
Check out the website it might give more info

Mmmm
I was planning to travel over for this match with my elder lad but, as always, getting tickets is the obstacle.
I suppose this could be an expensive way around it though I don't think I would have time to attend the mulled wine reception.
Might be better off taking my chances with the touts.

You don't know what legends you might miss , it would be a good thing for a youngster Count

I wonder who the 2 LFC legends are? Do you reckon they have them lined up or just taking their chances on who might happen to be there?

I don't know anout the young lad but I would probably be weak at the knees Vlad.

It is more that my time would be very tight. The flight from Dublin doesn't get in to Liverpool till 6pm and from expierence it will just give us enough time to have a quick check in at the hotel and then straight to Anfield. If I am really lucky (if you would call it lucky) I might have time for a scouse pie!

Probably good calls there. I was thinking Alan Kennedy might be one of them, and possibly even King Kenny as he is always there anyway

The two past players will come from the same pool who do the corporate day at Anfield and the academy each and every Friday. When I went to it last summer, the three with us for the day were David Johnson, John Barnes and Jan Molby. Others on the list include Alan Kennedy, David Fairclough, and I think about six or seven others.

Usually the kind of ones who are always on LFC tv too then. Brian Hall seems to be one who is on quite a lot

Ha, yes, Mr Personailty, he is employed as some sort of community relations officer

Just googled him and apparently he does after-dinner speaking too, and is described in the following way: "A charismatic and affable character, Brian's presentations are filled with a perfect mix of amusing stories and inspirational anecdotes."

So either that is a dreadful lie or the 'rambling slightly dull retired schoolteacher' mode he always seems to be in on TV is all just an act

I normally stay in one out near the airport as we leave at 6.30 the following morning.
It is quite a flying vist, even for a vampire 😉

I was going to say I don't mind picking you up , getting you there, and taking you back after, but as you say the time is too tight, I just checked the meal starts at 6.00 and with the best will in the world, you would not make it before 6.45.

Never mind

That is a most kind and generous offer Vlad. I am touched and really appreciate it.
You never know, maybe on another occasion I will be able to impinge on your generosity or better still buy you a pint. 🙂

These are regular things. They've been around forever. http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/tickets/hospitality_anfield.htm

The Gladstone thing is new though. http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/tickets/hospitality_sandon.htm

These are the hospitality deals that were mentioned in the hand out that Lecter published a few months back. The ones they stole the seats from general population for.

Alan Kennedy, David Fairclough, Phil Neal, Dave Johnson are the usual legends. Dalglish mentioned something about schmoozing in the hospitality suites in one of the interviews he did with lfc.tv recently.
