Good team, not sure how Suarez will react to the responsibility of being captain, I can hardly see him being a good mediator with the ref when decisions go against us, still his performances, and his leading the team attitude says he deserves it, well done Luis. Now please, please, please lets us beat this shower, unfortunately I can only see this being 2-1 to them, it'll be a really undeserved win for them too.

Our midfield need to step up or we will be bossed and dominated.
 
I think its smart by Rodgers having Sakho and Skrtel on the pitch, I think he's expecting many crosses from Tottenham.
We really need to put pressure on their fullbacks.

I will never say a bad word about Flanno again if he plays well today.
 
I don't like strikers as captain....

I want either a midfielder or defender to be captain. I don't really know.....it be best if a CB was captain.....
 
I hope not, we need possession in this game. Hopefully Sterling will be able to get some fruit out of their high line, at the very least force them to sit back and disrupt there style of play a bit.

Dawson is slow but the rest of them are pretty pacey aren't they? Particularly in the wide areas and midfield.

Sterling aside, we're not really equipped to hit them on the counter are we?

Indeed. Henderson will probably be able to get in behind as well, but we're not the biggest threat to them, the stage is set for Sterling though, only Walker in that team can keep up with him.
 
Set pieces will be a worry. They're a big powerful side and we dont know how to man mark.

Luckily, Eriksen isn't starting, there will be lots of freekicks given away by Allen and Lucas, and I don't want him standing over them.
 
I don't think it's the right approach, but I do think we'll play it long from the back a lot more than usual (frustratingly so). I hope I'm wrong & we play it through Allen & Henderson cos they're more than capable, but Gerrard demands the ball there whereas they may not.
 
Carra has a point, well I said the same before. Allen and Hendo have to step up now that Gerrard isn't on the pitch.
 
Souness has a point as well, Lucas needs to put in a top class performance today.
