Rumours he is on his way to Everton..

Statement signing without a doubt for Everton, but poor the Mata, he can do better than that... Surely ??

Some Spanish journos claiming he wants a return to Spain if he leaves Utd.
Like every Utd player though there is the possibility of playing for their reserve team, Everton.

I'm struggling to give a shite about both Mata and Everton.

I'm sure he could join a bigger, better club in Spain, Italy or Germany if he wanted to, but maybe he really wants to stay in the Premiership?

And Everton will chuck money at him. Literally.

Well, is it "always" or "more often than not"? 😛

More seriously, I do rate the guy and think he'll flourish in a decent set-up. Everton haven't had one of those for ages, but under Koeman that could change.

Let's hope it's pound coins. Or £2 coins even. Those would hurt like fuck.

Actually, given the right circumstances and the right velocity, a £2 coin could kill I reckon. There's a Ruth Rendell story in there somewhere. There you go Ruth, have that one for free. Well you could, if you weren't dead.

He's better than all the players we have in similar positions. 1 in 4 in the Prem, despite being regularly dicked about.

To be fair, he was wasted by Mourinho too, and there is some truth to the notion that hes not a great team player, but you'd have to wager if he was a big fish in a small pond, with all the adoration that goes with it, he'd be a huge success.

Will he accept a move to Everton though? Not sure about that in all honesty. If he's available for a decent fee then bigger clubs in Germany, Italy and Spain will be interested.

Why not? Relatively high profile manager, a league he knows well, money to spend and already the basis of a very good squad.

You tend to go from Utd to Everton when your career is finished though. Will they pay 100k + a week in wages aswell?

Do Everton have the basis of a very good squad though?

They need a new keeper, centre half, two centre mids and at least one more attacking player. Huge rebuilding job for Koeman.
