Massive MASSIVE hit

I posted this in the 'Australian's thread in Other Sports, but it needs a wider audience.

This is just one of the fucking dozens of hits AFL players get every weekend. The most demanding sport I've ever seen in my life. No other sports feature hits as big and as often as this, without fucking padding. Jordan Lewis here actually came back on the ground and finished the game off.

Unbelievably courage that to run with the flight of the ball knowing you're gonna get emptied.

Jordan Lewis gets knocked out in a heavy clash

It is a great game. When my bessie mate from Oz lived here he ussed to make me watch it, and I enjoyed it a lot. (Essendon sp? fan)

Go those doggies. 🙂

I was watching that game live and couldn't believe it when he came back on.

As has been said by several commentators it's about the only sport in the world where the colission can come from any angle at any time which is where the physicality comes from. I think there are more regular bone crunching colissions in rugby league than AFL but the difference is that the players brace themselves for those impacts where as in AFL there is generally at least one player and sometimes two players unprepared for the impact.

That is an absolutely vicious hit. Really about the only sport I know that might rival hockey for vicious contact.

I'd love to get a hit on Andrew Demetriou like that, and then I'd stamp on his balls and throw a card on his body that reads:

"From the FFA, Forza 2022 World Cup Bid"

Age doesn't diminish how fucking massive a hit that really was.

Heh, there was a couple of hits in the NRL this season that were of a similar ferocity; one by Greg Eastwood for New Zealand against Australia - I swear it nearly cut him in two. I wish I could find a few of them on line.

Nobody gives a shit about League, that's why you can't find it online. X

Just seen this. That is a huge hit! When I watched a game of Rules when i was in Melbourne I was completely amazed by the physical demands of the game. The players need to be exceptionally fit and also exceptionally strong and brave. Insane sport.

More a case of there are just so many of them online it takes to long to sort through them. But then, all Victorians are completely irrational when it comes to football. 😉
