Heard this the other day on the radio. If true, an amazing stat in this day and age.

Can anyone name any others?

Bob Paisley
Joe Fagan
Alex Ferguson
Dario Gradi

???

People get sacked in Europe all the time and still get top jobs, yet when you get sacked over here it's pretty much curtains for most people.

Often we hear the term 'mutual content' these days so it doesn't really matter if they were sacked or not.

Not sure if he was sacked from Norwich. He certainly didn't leave there on particularly good terms

Indeed. Strictly speaking I don't think Houllier has ever been sacked.

Nor Evans actually

Houllier got sacked.

Of course he did but officially I believe it was by 'mutual consent'

O'Neil Jumps ship whenever things get dodgy...

He is a decent enough manager but he doesnt exactly choose teams that ask for the world... Celtic was probably the job with most pressure to succeed but lets face it - The other teams dont stand a chance against Celtic and Rangers.

He seems qite highly-strung and prone to spazzing out. We saw that for ourselves with Barry. The issue with Villa is that his direct report knows next to nothing about football, which must have been a frustration in itself.

And he didn't fancy explaining why he had so many high-earning players who, to all intents and purposes, got apid to train, because he didn't rotate his first team much, or use his squad. Plus, when told to cut the wage bill (ie sell the players you don't seem to like anyway) he got all uppity and told them to fuck off.

Yeah..

He is very much stuck in the old days.. His socks over his jogging pants and his over the top reactions on the side of the pitch is quite rare in modern football.

He is one of those managers that will struggle to adapt to these new owners. They are all major businessmen with very little knowledge of Football and they expect a high level of proffesionalism from their managers. I guess he comes across as more of a coach than a manager...

Not having him in the premier league will be a loss... He can sometimes be annoying but he keeps things interesting and when he celebrates like that against Utd i cant help but dance around like a twat too..

Pure speculation but Martin O'Neil does seem to have a thin skin and walks when he feels that he can't control every aspect and his decisions are tested. You've only got to hear him as TV pundit to know he likes the sound of his own voice.

Should GH get the Villa job he'll do a better job anyway, I don't think Villa will suffer.

I'm not sure. GH was the right man to clean the stables after Roy lost control, but he lost it when the time came to kick on from there. I don't know what the situation is behind the scenes at the Villa, but if there's a mess that needs sorting GH will sort it right enough. What I'm not convinced about is whether he can still take them forward when he's done so.

I think with the like of Carew and Heskey available and a speed merchant like Agbonlahor it'll be set up for GH to replicate some of the tactics he employed while with us.
