[article=http://www.101greatgoals.com/blog/remember-the-name-15-year-old-martin-odegaard-called-up-by-norway/]Martin Odegaard is on the lips of many football scouts and fans across the globe today as he looks set to be the youngest ever player to appear for the Norway national team.

The 15-year-old plays his club football for Stromsgodset, making 14 appearances this season from midfield, bagging three goals.

Odegaard has been selected for Norway’s friendly next week against United Arab Emirates in Stavanger.

If Odegaard does not play in this international friendly, the youngster could face England on September 3.

Having made some exciting appearances for Stromsgodset, Odegaard has already been linked with some of the biggest clubs in Europe, including Barcelona, Manchester United, Manchester City, Juventus, PSG and Ajax.

The hype will likely go into overdrive should he become Norway’s youngest ever player.

On being called up by Norway coach Per-Mattias Hogmo, Odegaard simply said: “This is a dream come true. I am shocked.[/article]

[article]Last weekend Danish paper Verdens Gang reported that Real Madrid and Liverpool sent scouts this weekend to see Martin Ødegaard in the flesh, while a few weeks ago his dad, Hans Erik, told the press that “more than 30 [of the best clubs in Europe] have made an inquiry”

Reacting a question about the attention his now getting, Martin Ødegaard told reporters that it doesn’t bother him and he’s only interested in improving his game.[/article]

This lad is the biggest talent our country has seen since the Vikings roamed around Europe.
15 years old and plays like he's 30. Fantastic skill, vision and passing. Creates chances and has that calmness you see with players like Fabregas. Just looks like they've got time to think before they do anything. Always in control and knows where the other players are.

God knows how good he can become. The talent is insane and there is something like 40 clubs chasing and scouting him.
Was the best player on the pitch today in his International debut against UAE, at 15!
He could feature against England and Italy next month.

Needs to make the right decision when he moves from Stromsgodset. Maybe a German club were he'll get to play or maybe Ajax.
Moving to one of the big clubs now wont benefit him.

He's a massive Liverpool fan and has said he wants to play for Liverpool someday. His dad used to play for Stromsgodset aswell and is also a massive Liverpool fan.

With our recent record of letting youth step up, perhaps we could get him

Possibly, but lad is already playing with the first team. Would he be content with coming over and playing for the u18s?

No. Which is why I said he needs to choose carefully when he leaves. Dont think he'll leave yet either mind.

We'd be daft not to get in there and sign him when we have an advantage. Won't be a gamble and can let him develop back in Norway for a bit or elsewhere.

What kind of fee do they seem to be looking for? Could be very big the hype he's receiving.

Surely we have to sign this kid, though. How often do we get a chance to really exploit the Norwegian fan base? I think he's the first Norwegian wonderkid I've ever heard of.

Most Liverpool fans do not end up playing for LFC until their sell by date is expiring. Just saying.
