We definitely need a win, but also need to rest a few players before a tough away game at West Ham on Saturday. So, who do we play and who rests? What's the status of Countinho and Lovren injuries? When will Lallana come back?

I'm thinking this team:

----------------Karius--------------
Trent---Matip--Gomez---Robertson
----------------Can-----------------
------Wijnaldum-----Grujic-------
Salah-------Solanke-----Oxlade

Good team that. Might be worth considering resting Matip as well.
We have to win on Wednesday but as you say, need to rest some players.

You could pick 11 cunts from this site and we'd still beat that shower of Slovenian dogshite.

Woodburn for Salah and I'm in.

We don't need a big win but we do need to ensure we don't drop any points by being over-confident. I'm sure Maribor, who haven't been utter dogshite until we hammered them, will be trying their utmost to frustrate us and maybe try something different.

No need to chance Coutinho and Lallana and Mane aren't ready. Clyne still hasn't come down it seems. Lovren will be back and he can't do too much damage in this one and needs to get some confidence back.

I quite like Rurik's team so only minor changes from that. Big names on the bench if needed.

Oxlade-------Solanke-----Woodburn

I don't want us to do a Rogers here - one of his biggest criticisms was resting the squad for a game against Madrid. We still aren't certain to go through, and I want us to make a statement again here. It is important that we continue to help players like Firmino & Studge find form.

--------------Karius----------
Trent--Gomez--Matip--Moreno
--------------Can--------------
--------Milner---Gini--------- (but happy-ish with Hendo for Gini)
Oxlade----Firmino----Studge

One of the things that undermines my own confidence in Klopp has to be the persistence in playing Karius in the CL. It's the one position we don't need to rotate in, and he's the worst, and I'm not a hyperbolic fella, but the WORST keeper we've had in eons.

I do not care how dog-shite Maribor was away from home, a big win gives us a good chance of getting through to the last 16 and as a club, we thrive on being in the CL.

Playing a second string team and assuming that our victory is guaranteed is a silly move, yes we did smash them in the away game but they did qualify for the league and maybe they can actually play a bit. Assuming we are going to win before the ball has been kicked is tempting fate.

Play a strong team and hopefully get the early goals then we rest by subbing the key players off so they are fresh for the weekend, also West Ham did play a big game midweek last week which we didn't so.... no excuses for tiredness... just get winning consistently....

It's also good we are at home.... less journeying about etc...

Exactly. A bird in the hand is worth two in the Bush. Best team to WIN WIN WIN

I like the squidgy egg type ones and the ones that make your mouth feel sour and tangy..

Not Excluded just to Wednesday's mind..

(Disappointed in the lack of imagination with the Thread Title)

Mmmm...Utopia!

----------------Karius---------------
TAA-----Gomez-----Matip---Robbo
----------------Can------------------
---------Grujic------Wijnaldum-----
AOC---------Solanke-------Salah--

I think when we played Stromsgodset and got our biggest win of 11-0, in the second leg (with a stronger first XI) we only won 1-0. That's how it tends to work. But hopefully we can start well and get a few more goals. Winning 7-0 did feck all for our league form last time, but at least a few players might push on this time.

Me & the lad coming over for this today. Have tickets for Upper Main Stand, which I have never been in before. I heard it can be freezing up there ... do we need to wear many layers?

I am over for the Chelsea game. So I guess I share your concern as I have no clue were I have ticket.

It's a bit warmer than usual at this time of year, but I'd still wear layers going the match sitting anywhere, cos you're not moving you get cold fucking quickly. You can always take something off or unzip a coat, which is a much nicer option to have than wishing you had more on as you sit shivering & wondering if your hands should be that funny shade of blue.
