I don’t remember seeing that! Hilarious. His English is outstanding

I honestly think Klopp is in the wrong. I kinda cringed a little. I understand that he's angry about the lunch time kickoff's and that he learned that Matip got injured a few hours before but he could have handled it in a different way instead of calling the guy ignorant etc.

I don't think he meant to call him an ignorant just that his perspective to make a joke of the kick off was an ignorant point of view.

If there are 2 things Klopp responds sensitively to it's transfers and kick off time/scheduling.

Isn't it that the interview was done really late after the game and he was irritable and wanted to get off home?

Whats the point of starting an interview with a ironic remark about the 1230 kick off? We’ve had about 10 more than the other clubs. Short turnaround against. Fitness and possibly more injuries.
It just shows how limited the interviewers understanding of the game and the issue are, so maybe he’ll try to figure it out after this.

Matip injury also probably put him in a bad mood

The boss swatting away a small insect.

This is really stupid, it seems we are the only team that get's 12:30 kick-offs. So the players have to leave leave Liverpool on Friday straight after training to be in London unless they charter a private jet.

While i understand Klopp is frustrated he comes across very poorly here imo. Even if he didn’t think it was funny he could have articulated his point more professionally.

I knows its not after an international break this time.. but I think this is why he's got the hump.

Look how many more games at 12.30 we've had compared to the next most. Since klopp took over. Directly after an international break.

Yea Klopp comes across as a bit of dick there, the guy was bringing the kick off time into the conversation in a light hearted way. If anything he’s giving Jurgen a platform to complain, maybe reiterating the numbers above would be more useful than whatever that was.

Yeah I have a feeling that Klopp pissed off that he needed to do that interview as well. He probably just wanted to get out of there as fast as possible.

I wanted to post it on the "Yet another early kick off" thread but its closed.
The case is I think now, if there is an early kick-off it favours us. The opposing team is more at a disadvantage due to not being as experienced as us at playing an early kick-off.
I don't know what proportion of those 12:30 kick-off are home, hopefully half? If however, majority are away, then its simply underhanded.

This season it's been 1 at home (Everton) and the rest away (Wolves, Palace, City) if I've been keeping count correctly.

We may have very well played our last 12:30 for the season.

The guy was making a light-hearted comment in an effort to display some understanding / sympathy / recognition that it is an issue. Klopp was being a bad-tempered dick. If you don't think so, you're probably one of those people who is frequently thought of as a dick but doesn't know or understand it.

Eh?

Haven't you contradicted yourself here, why make a joke of an issue? This isn't some stand up comedy show.

Anyone that has an understanding why constantly playing at 12:30s is an issue........wouldn't then go on to make a joke out of it? You know Klopp has a sensitive touch on this subject, it's common sense to not bring it up in that manner.

Agreed. He was really just trying to make a connection.

In an ideal world it would have better for Klopp to have handled it more coolly, but IMO his reaction is more understandable than some of you lot are saying. The issue's a serious one which (rightly IMO) concerns Klopp a fair bit, and the interviewer's tone-deaf approach trivialised it. Neither party comes out of it particularly well.

Agreed, I think its the "your favorite" that gets to Klopp. Could have handled it differently but those who cant see why its proactive when we have about 8 times more early kick offs and the short turnaround results in potential injuries are very naïve.

The reaction from Klopp shows the 12.30 kick off is a touchy issue to Klopp than when we see him calmly complaining about it. The fact that the FA seem not doing anything about it just infuriates him more. Yes he went a bit hard there but he was talking on one hand to the FA.

There should also be a question in regards to why Newcastle seem to get all the 1730 kick offs. Its the prime time spot for their supreme overlords in the Saudis but surely that has got nothing to do with it.....

Mos def. They're 3 hours ahead (GMT+3). So as you say, prime time.

Time in Malaysia/Singapore (GMT+8), our games is prime time for them.
