He's a 25 year old striker that has never scored more than 8 league goals in a season. He's greatest tally so far is 10 and 11. Making him a 1 in 3 and 1 in 4 in his two latest clubs.

If we had signed him for 14 mill with that record, this place would have had a meltdown.

Great start for him but nothing suggests it will last.

His flying start has made this a real hindsight thread in my opinion. "What could have been done in January"..

Look at his goal scoring stats. This forum would have had a meltdown if we paid 14-15 mill for him.

61 goals in 217 games, and 46 league goals in 187 league games in that. All credit to Soton if he turns out to be a class signing, but its a bit early to say that.
His link up play was good yesterday and the second finish was class. Looks a talented player alright but whether or not we should have bought him or if he'll turn out great, is a bit early to say.

3 games and 5 goals is a fantastic start though. Will be interesting to see if he keeps it up or not.

He would have been shit for us, too much pressure. That's why Southampton do so well with these punts. A player can develop their game at the club without the pressures of close scrutiny.
