They should be more worried about marking Gerrard out of the game in his deep lying quaterback role. Fuck Scholes or Carrick.
I've no doubt in attack we'll be great and they won't deal, BUT our defence won't deal with hem either if we set up wrong.

Well score, but I don't want to risk them scoring more

Heh.. good shout, though I can see this being an 'unlikely hero' game.

It always is one of those games, look who has scored winners for them in the past 5 yrs, Ferdinand, O Shea, etc

Henderson to score the winner!

Ha now that would be a turn up - seriously though someone needs to have a word with Lucas and Allen not to give away stoopid free kicks within 40yds of the goal, imho this is where we are going to be especially vulnerable against them along with corners.

Hopefully Allen won't be on the pitch

Massive game this, they always are against the scum. If we lose which is the most likely outcome if we're honest, i just hope we go down fighting.

Too many times we've went there and put in weak, shitty performances and not to mention individual mistakes and indiscipline costing us dearly.

Can't remember too many of those against the scum, to be fair. Mistakes, yes.

Just off the top of my head:

Last season, 2-1 defeat. Thought were awful and should have been beaten by more than 1 goal.

2008: 3-0 defeat, outplayed and again, could have conceded more.

2006: 2-0 defeat, another game at Old Trafford where we fell to pieces.

Then there's 2003 when we lost 4-0. Hyypia sent off early on.

Of course we've had a few great days at Old Trafford, the 4-1 in 2009 being the highlight but as i say, too many times over the years we've put in inept performances and hopefully there's not another one on Sunday.

I didn't say that they didn't exist! I just meant that we usually play really well against United.

You seemed to be quesioning my comment so i thought i needed to back it up 😀

Wouldn't say we usually play really well against United at Old Trafford tbh. At Anfield, yes. In fact i cant remember the last time they outplayed us at Anfield even when they've beat us.

Yeah, definitely more so at Anfield. I just thought that as a rule, we nearly always made them work extra hard.

My memory isn't as good as what it used to be.

Yep, even when we're in shit form we raise our game when the scum come to Anfield. The 2-0 in 2009 for instance.

Just hope we get at them this weekend and dont roll over.

Henderson Gerrard and lucas in midfield for me. If it's not working then take off lucas and bring on shelvey.

This strikes me as a game where Allen and lucas in the same midfield would cost us many goals in sheer lack of closing down and harrying up the pitch and closing down Carrick and Scholes.

Henderson guarantees running, as does shelvey. Henderson is more consistent (albeit safe) in his passing than shelvey
Allen closes down and harries more than any other midfielder we have.

Not to mention the Murphy shows or the 3-2 defeat where we came back from the dead. Generally bar the 3-0 ribbing we've always competed. The 4-0 1 is unfair as we lost our best defender and a peno in the first few minutes.

Fair enough, the 2003 game we were a man down most of the game but the 2-1 defeat last season and 2-0 in 2006 we were shite mate, remember the games well.

ya the 2-0 was the worst but 2 games out of what the last 10-15 years? Not bad.

Utd havent turned up at Anfield over and over and have gotten lucky to nick a point more than once.
