Thanks.

1, Suarez - he never stopped working.
2. Allen - magnificent. He wasn't showy but what a shift he put in.
3. Gerrard - he's deserved some flack recently but that was a superb, mature, selfless captain's performance.

Suarez
Agger
Allen

Mentions for rest of back bar Flanno (who worked his socks off but had a bit of a rough time) and Sterling too.

Suarez
Agger
Mignolet

Mig might be a strange choice to some, but if he didn't make that crucial save in the first half, I think we'd have come home with just a point or none. They were all over us in that period and just needed a goal to get over the hump. That was an important save.

Joe Allen was fantastic today.

Only Sturridge and Glen Jo were poor today.

Great result after a shaky first half!

As for MOTM:

1) Suarez - A goal and 2 assists. He needed a bit of luck to get back into the goalscoring habit. Today, he got it. And was the difference again. He's a warrior.
2) Allen - Endless pressing. Great interceptions that got us back on the front foot.
3) Mignolet - Crucial save. And a clean sheet!

Suarez - Wow!
Sterling - what a player he's been developing into over the last few months!
Agger - just ahead of Skrtel

1. Suarez - tremendous, possibly the hardest-working world-class forward player I've seen since George Best.
2. Allen - really starting to look the player he was at Swansea, gets second place for me by a short head from
3. Mignolet - yes, parts of his game need work, but right from the beginning of the season he's also been producing crucial saves at crucial times.

Love it when these threads throw up numerous different nominees.

Suarez - but sell him soon
Mignolet - critical save preserved first half lead
Agger - more like it

GlenJo, Allen & Sterling with shout outs.

You seriously watched a different game to the rest of us.

No, my opinion. I felt Glen Jo looked uncomfortable whenever Southampton pressed. A lot of passes went backwards because of him. Some of the balls played to him weren't great, but I think a left footed full back would got out of those tight situations better.

Sturridge's decision making was poor today. He seemed to try too hard to pass today in the first half, when a shot was the better option.

Only watched the 2nd half:

1. Suarez
2. Gerrard

3rd place could go to almost anyone: Allen, Sterling, Mignolet, Skrtel… But I thought Henderson's performance was excellent, so I choose him by a hair.
