Sterling - was pissed with Lazar towards the end when he chose to feed Gerrard out wide rather than play our striker straight through on goal
Markovic - had an excellent first 40 minutes. They tried to cut off his space in the second half and it closed him out of the game; that and the fact he tired or switched into cruise control.

Coutinho was very good in patches, Lucas was solid all night and Gerrard kept making up ground as well as proving a goal threat. Wasn't really convinced by any of our CB's - they all looked to have vulnerabilities which weren't quite exposed by Bournemouth.

Special mention for Sakho, I thought he looked calm in possession, passed well, was quick and made a really good tackle inside the box when B'Mouth threatened late on.

Interesting that so far everyone bar Modo has Lallana in top two ( most in first). Modo seems to think that Coutinho was actually close to that third spot.

1. Lallana: excellent performance but no more than I expected given most of his previous displays - HAS to get a regular place in the side IMO;
2. Markovic: I wonder how many of us thought "WTF" when he lined up at LWB, but he did so well in a position that's nowhere near familiar to him;
3. Sterling: this season the pocket rocket is simply indispensable - we need to get his contract tied up tighter than a mouse's ringpiece, and pronto.

Agree with Oncy's comments about Coutinho, who came close for me and, with luck and a following wind, will be a major star of the future.

I thought that was good vision from Markovic, Sterling might have been offside and Gerrard was in acres of space on the right, Bournemouth defenders probably didn't expect that pass either.

I thought he was on and would have had a clear run on goal as well - they weren't going to catch him.

I really thought it was a case of someone trying to be a little too clever with the pass but it was still a pretty good ball to Gerrard - just not the best one.
