Man City v LFC: So what is the problem?

And he's right, too.

Lawenson has been spot on quite a bit in recent times, although I much rather read him in print then listen to him droning on MOTD.

"Well, that's right Garyzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"

The way so many of us here were moaning after the match made us the worst team in the PL and the worst LFC team ever.

LOL, we have been missing at least one part of the jigsaw at one time or another. When we found him, another piece would have left.

Result wise in the grand scheme of a season, it's a good away result. But the way we played was a shambles and almost 'anti-football', City were there for the taking and we just didn't turn up. And in the race for 4th we needed the three points really, we're now in 6th again when we could have edged a point or two ahead of the pack.

But if I remember it, Man City was playing as if they are away! Defending en mass trying to catch us on the break. As we all know, we cannot break teams down with our current fit players.

To be fair, it's pretty hard to break teams down when you can barely string three passes together.

I thought it was a solid, if uninspiring, performance. Given some of the outrageous fortune and injuries that has come our way this season it's not really any wonder that we have retreated into our shell and concentrated on being difficult to beat. It's the right thing to do.

A draw at Man City is a decent result. Getting our creative players back will give us more goal threat, perhaps turning a draw like this into a win.

I expect our home form to carry us for the most part but if Benitez can at last put out our strongest team we'll return to form and I think just see us over the line into 4th.

True, and the temerity of Adebayou accusing us of playing defensive!

As Hansern said (I reckon it was him) we are actually the first team to leave Stadium of Light without conceeding this Season.

Not to shabby.

Not pretty either evidently but with our given run-in untill the end of the Season it was a good result. We are yet to play 9 of the teams from the bottom half of the table for one.

Adebayor is a king-sized pr@t. Good player, but a pr@t nonetheless.

The result against Citeh was decent enough, but they're at odds with themselves at the minute and we could have done better still if we'd tried. Even so, I remain quietly optimistic we'll get 4th.

City have beaten all of the top 4 in various competitions and are unbeaten at home in the league. To *expect* a victory with a weakened team was always unrealistic.

To my mind, while I want us to win every game, a point at Eastlands can't be considered a bad result, irrespective of the performance. We kept another clean sheet and we're now becoming much harder to beat and developing much better consistancy in terms of results.

We are only missing the final 6 pieces of the jigsaw.

The sad thing is that when we finally have found thenm and bought them the first 5 pieces are old, slow, over the top and so on, hence we by then lack only five last pieces of the jigsaw.

Not forgetting the fact that we have to sell a piece in order to fund the purchase for another 2 - 3 pieces.

Boring is not a problem every now and then the same way as 1 point away against Man City is not a problem every now and then.

Being out of CL, FA, League race, League Cup AND playing boring game after game after game in early January is a problem.
