Mamadou Sakho has hinted that he will look to secure a move away from Paris St Germain when the transfer window re-opens.

The highly-rated defender is a product of PSG's academy system and was considered to be an integral part of their future not all that long ago.

Times have changed at Parc des Princes, though, with the club now in a position to spend big on any player that takes their fancy.

That approach has left Sakho frustrated on the bench and the 22-year-old has made it clear that he is not prepared to stay there.

Numerous Premier League clubs are reported to have expressed an interest in his services in the past, and the France international admits he would welcome the opportunity to turn out in England.

"I will do everything to play at the 2014 World Cup,

but I need to be playing week in, week out," said Sakho.

"I cannot accept playing just a few minutes this season and next because this is a decisive moment in my career.

"At the end of the season I will sit down with my agent and club officials and clear up the situation.

"If I have to leave PSG to keep my place in the France national team, then I have no choice but to leave."

On the rumours liking him with the likes of Arsenal

Sakho added: "I adore the English Premier League.

He's a very talented defender ... But if he wants to play, I'm not sure we're the best place for him.

Fuck me,that's some great work by his agent.

Fuck I hope not ... We could probably get him for 7-10 million ... That's excellent value for money.

We were even interested in that sisokio (sp?) who was available at the bargain price of 2 million so really cant see one happening either!

Reiterated his stand in an interview yesterday. Contract ends in 2014.

"In the mind of the PSG coach, I'm third [in the pecking order of central defenders]. I finally accept it, even if I do not understand it, especially since I've not had an explanation - that disappointed me too.

"I have to play football at club level to qualify for the France team. Next season will be particularly important. I've had a difficult time at PSG for a year and a half. I must play to continue my progress."

Liverpool scouts apparently present in PSG's home match vs Montpellier.

Sakho was an unused sub though, with Menez in the starting XI and Gamiero coming on as a sub and scoring the winner.

I wonder what scouts write when the player they see is on the bench.

Good posture? Communications skills?

I guess it's also important for a scout to know how a player reacts to being a substitute. It will inevitably happen at some stage if they come to Liverpool, so knowing how a player applies themselves, attitude to being left out and if they make an impact when brought on etc. is certainly worth considering before we splash the cash.

The fact the Gamiero came on and scored the winner would impress the scouts I assume!

We've read reports of how scouts turn up to look at one player, only to be impressed by another, too. I guess they should be flexible enough to run the rule over other unplanned yet potential targets?
