07:32: Jurgen Klopp is facing a major pre-season battle to hold on to two of his most important Liverpool stars – with Inter Milan ready to launch a £35m move for winger Sadio Mane.
Klopp is already battling to hold on to Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho, with Barcelona not giving up the chase despite having a £72m bid rejected.
The Liverpool boss has insisted Coutinho is not for sale as he continues to put together a side he believes is capable of challenging for the Premier League title this season.
But Express Sport understands Klopp could soon have a battle on his hands to keep another of his key players – Sadio Mane – with Inter ready to make their move after he returned from injury in the Reds’ 3-0 friendly win over Hertha Berlin.

So Inter are going to bid 35m for Mane. Aye, fucking right.

Indeed. We're going to accept the amount we paid for one of the best players in the PL last season, and certainly one of our own best players. Whatever they're smoking down at Express Sports is some banging shit.

That doesn't make much sense - not that it should in the ludicrous rumours, mind.

Griezmann and Coutinho are very different players and didn't Greizmann effectively rule out a move earlier in the summer?

Yah but even Simeone is talking about his 'pride' of having his players linked to Barca.
They're different players but the way Barca's front 3 play, he can fit in imo.

He's better suited to their front three the way they play these days. I thought they wanted Coutinho for the midfield.

Coutinho and Neymar are hardly similar though, I actually think Griezmann is closer to Neymar than Coutinho in all honesty.
 
Every player has a price and so at what price would you sell Mane?No doubt the Italians will try a low ball offer, before scampering off and admitting defeat.
 
It would have been but, as King Binny says, he's signed a new deal with his club. The second (and earlier) tweet quoted above is from the club and confirms it.
 
Fair point but, as the deal was only signed in June and lasts till 2022, the cost would be very high indeed, particularly for a second choice player.

Reported Liverpool target Geoffrey Kondogbia is understood to have submitted a formal transfer request.
Liverpool have been linked with the 24-year-old Inter Milan midfielder, who made 20 starts in Serie A last season, and who is contracted in Milan until 2020.
France Football claimed in the winter that Chelsea and Liverpool have both made enquiries to sign Kondogbia before the Reds made their move for Naby Keita.
Now though with Liverpool’s hopes of landing RB Leipzig man Keita dead, Kondogbia may well be back on the radar.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the French midfielder has handed in a transfer request at the Nerazzurri and Inter aim to sell him for a fee of around €30m to €35m.

The big news this morning is that Liverpool are reportedly in talks to sign Ajax playmaker and Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech, who was previously scouted by Manchester United.

Moroccan news outlet Les Lions de L’Atlas even claim that Liverpool have sent representatives to Holland to enter into talks with Ajax.

Ziyech is classy attacking midfielder who scored 12 goals and picked up 20 assists in 46 appearances for the Dutch club last season, and the newspaper speculate that he could be a replacement for Philppe Countinho.

He could also help to replace the injured Adam Lallana.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is desperate to land at least one more high-profile summer signing, but things aren't going his way.

After missing out on Antoine Griezmann, it now looks as though United are going to miss out on Gareth Bale, too.

The Welshman has been told he is the 'future of Real Madrid'.
