We've mouth watered at the prospect of him in our squad in previous seasons. His stats for last season are up there with 18 goals and 11 assists. In an inflated market where we are being asked to pay £70m for young exciting player who may have a dodgy ticker.

I know we have Mane and Salah who play both on the right, but is Lucas Moura at £27m too much of an opportunity to miss?

Sturridge is being touted as a target for PSG, swap deal plus £13m cash our way sounds like a good deal

Are you suggesting lose Sturridge and forego signing a quality CM to sign another winger ?

Nope, I am saying passing up signing Muora for £27m is too good of a chance to miss. And if that means selling sturridge, I am all up for that. Kieta at £70m is just well over priced, and if we do sign him then I am expecting nothing less than top 2.

Lol we're already playing catch up on the top teams after scraping 4th and that was without European games . Now you think the signing of keita means we should be in top 2. Ignoring the fact that those same teams are going to be making their squad even stronger.

I know nothing about this lad, but would there be a case for saying if we can think of paying £25m for the Ox, then £27m for Muora is good business? Or, does the versatility of the ox trump the argument?

So I guess I'll take Moura over Ox too ...

Thou shalt not covet your neighbour's Ox. His Lucas is up for grabs.

PSG bought crusty the clown for £50m and sold him back for £32m.

I'm sure we don't know the full financial picture of a few of these transfers. Gabriel Jesus to Man City also springs to mind – I'm sure City parted with a lot more than £27M, but the rest went to third parties rather than his previous club. My understanding is that when you buy a player from Germany or Holland, then the price you pay is actually the price you pay. When it comes to Brazil, Russia or two-way deals between, say, Qatari and Russian oligarchs, or involving "super-agents" like Mendes, it's a lot more complicated.
