In seriousness one telling stat, clearly Mikel distribution was something only Lucas could dream of.

Its that area of Lucas's game that has stopped him from being on the team sheet every game..

It's not. His passing is quite good and he can play some decent balls through congested areas from deep in our half. His downfall is that he's pretty ordinary at other aspects of the game, his tackling and positioning in some instances are excellent, he reads the game well and it's commendable that he's now a fairly trustworthy centre half when required. His rash tackles, unnecessary fouls and general ball watching at other times is just frustrating.

He came in as an attacking midfielder and has developed into a fairly unspectacular but useful defensive player, so he deserves alot of credit for that and for the fee we paid he's been worth it in that sense. I guess it's also not his fault that a brilliant midfield evaporated around him. But that's the root of the truth really, when Gerrard, Alonso and Mascher were here there was massive gulf in class between them and him and he's now gradually become a player who's featured in every squad since as a symptom of our fall from grace and loss of genuine class players. He's not the only one in that sense but he's somehow lasted the course alot longer than anyone else has. I never really liked or rated Mikel, I thought he was equally pretty dour as a player and another sort of water-carrier, ordinary player who did a job and stuck around because he was a good pro and a reliable squaddie. I don't think their longevity signifies much more than that they've been steady Eddie's who've worked hard to improve and stay at their clubs.

Lucas biggest problem is that he's slow and not that agile.
Still the best option we have.

Will he start against Leicester or will Klopp persist with Hendo?

Considering we didn't bring anyone that plays his position better I'm happy he has stayed.

We will use him this season.

Obi Mike was a terribly Shit DM for a top four club....he was always a weak link...

So ya, it's apt for the two to be compared.

Both started out as AMs, both got converted to DMs at their current clubs and both are resoundingly ordinary. Very apt comparison.

Yeah , remember the war Chelsea and United had over signing him ?

The hype suggested he was way better than he turned out

Why the comparison between 2 very average players? If you're going to compare players at least make it worth while....messi v ronaldo or something.

I applaud the graphics and art work though, I imagine someone somewhere put in a lot of effort and time to do it.
