looks very likely that manu will get 19. how does that make you feel?

I don't give a damn.

It's been inevitable for years because they're a much richer and better well run club than we are.

I'd say it's pretty much nailed on now. It annoys me, as does (particularly) the thought of their "fans" giving it large about how this means they've knocked us off our perch (I'm thinking of having some cards printed saying "I'll see your 19 titles and raise you 5 European Cups&quot😉, but with a bit of luck we'll turn it to advantage and use it as extra impetus to get back on track in the title race. John Henry's already referred to it in that kind of spirit in some of what he's said, so I'm hopeful overall.

I don't care either.

I was only around to catch the tail end of our glory years and even then I was too young to genuinely appreciate it.

It's nice to have a history to look back on, but it's the here and now that really matters and for a long time now, Utd have been the most successful side in England. The fact that it's now going to be confirmed by some meaningless record is neither here nor there.

kittens don't bounce well enough to allow you to drop kick accurately anyway.

I'm not bothered, we've farted around for years being run by people who persistently only focused on being incrementally better than we were the last year. That's not how to build a successful side and now finally we're seeing some proper medium to long term thinking because as John Henry said himself success isn't winning the Championship once.

We're in a far from ideal situation right now but I've no doubt we'll be back in the top four soon and then in contention for the league very soon after that.

for me it will feel like a monkey off our back and hopefully will be a massive incentive for us to move forwards. I'm frankly sick of supporting the likes of chelsea and arsenal in the vain hope they stop manu getting our record (small time bollox) when the truth is if we don't win the league who gives a flying fuck who wins it.

I give a flying fuck. I don't want ManUre to win anything, and I can't anaesthetise myself to the disappointment of them doing so by pretending I don't care. The key is to get back on level terms with them, and I do think that's within our reach now.

It's inevitable.

We haven't won the league for 21 years.....21 YEARS

I'm tired of sitting and hoping that other "cuntish" teams like Chelsea or Arsenal win it.
These past two season have been hell.

This thread has popped up pretty often, hasnt it?

HOw does it feel?

It feels like shit, but you just have to shrug your shoulders as this has been coming for a long time.

What's funny is that I'm actually going to be a lot sheltered this time.

I actually had to escape to England to escape the Mancs.

The good news is that Neil won't pop up with this shitty thread again until the Mancs top our European Cups.

I don't really care anymore. I just ignore them. When they try to have a pop at me about something I just agree with them ("Yes, Bebe's better than Suarez", etc) and they don't know what to say.

Can't agree more.

"Skrtel is a poor mans Vidic."

"Lucas is a joke"

"Carragher...hahahaha"

"Kuyt is the best defensive striker in the premiership"

This is what I hear on a daily basis. My comeback? Erm...Scholes is slow.

I'm with all the cats who are indifferent to it. Anyone who follows this club has already accepted it, a while ago.

I think it says something about our pedigree that we're handing it back having not won the league for 21 fucking years.

"We're having a very bad time of it at the moment; our squad is shit and I don't know if our manager can do it. But 8 months go we faced backruptcy, 4 months ago we faced relegation. It'll take a while and maybe you'll break our records, but we'll be back. We're survivors. The Mancs were relegated in the '70's but you have no idea what that's like, and you can't even name the manager who managed your fucking shit team of pricks before your 'Sir Alex'. So please stop bragging about your team when you're a Manc, because you're just a shit glory-hunting cunt of a fan who knows nothing about your own team"

There are far more important things than worrying about who's going to win the league or whatever. Of course it's great when we're brilliant, or when United fuck up, but I don't worry about any of it anymore. People take it all so seriously, I can't be bothered.

Of course, but's only when someone wants to get a rise out of me.

You just have to do it once, because then they find someone else to make fun of.

the frustrating thing is we are no where near challenging for the league, when FSG talks about winning the league I wonder if they are utterly delusional or if they have plan.

I don't trust FSG to be honest.

We sold Torres and Babel and bought Suarez and Carroll. I don't know if those purchases would have been sanctioned if Torres wasn't about to leave.

I think they'll try to increase the value of the club and then sell it to the highest bidder. Probably some oil millionaire in Dubai. The whole Lebron thing just intensified my distrust.

regardless of whether FSG put us in a position to challenge they will always have my thanks for pullung us from the brink.

Rosco, who cares about accuracy when one's eyes are full of bitter, hysterical tears ?

Not me, Mister !

Inevitably a sad day because how far we fell behind.

However in the greater scheme of things exactly what we need. Something to focus on and pull together as a team to chase.

the 2009 and season seems to be our story in microcosm;
brilliant start to the season - liverpool 2 decades of dominance

top at christmas but cautious play sees us getting draw after draw - not speculating while we are on top with regards to marketing and stadium expansion

manu close the gap and eventually overtake us - manu close the gap and eventually overtake us

only when we have nothing to lose do we throw caution to the winds - only now are we looking to expand anfield/build new stadium trailing in the wake of arsenal's 60,000 and manu's 70,000 stadiums

The 'we were on top' is a bit of a fallacy.

The Mancs had games in hand and everyone in the world knew they were going to catch us and beat us.

We were doomed by not believing in ourselves more, by not having the mental strength to win, and by buying very poorly just when the squad was finally looking decent.

Then the ruin began.

We lost our best players, and kept buying shit, coupled by American pirates doing their best to destroy us.

It's almost unbelievable we havent become Nottingham Forest.

Nah, that's not true Avy... I was at Craven Cottage when Yossi scored that last minute winner. We were gathering momentum and United seemed to be losing theirs.

That afternoon, I really thought we were going to win the league... I was in the home end with the Fulham supporters and took my time leaving the ground as I just wanted to watch our fans sing about how they believed.

United turned it around against Villa and found their momentum and won it, but it wasn't a sure thing for them. Not like it is this season and Arsenal's pathetic "challenge".

I'm glad you felt that way, mate.

Would have loved to had that.

I knew they'd catch us, I felt it in my bones.

And I was sick to my stomach when they did.

It feels shit tbh but it's coming and I'm prepared. Let them have their moment, we'll be back up there soon enough (he hopes!)

I am starting to accept that they will get #19.....What will make me want to kill myself is if they get their 4th European Cup, or dare I say, the Treble.
