Living on past glories

Sick of reading and hearing other people talk about us as 'living on past glories'. What the fuck does that even mean? Arsenal have won fuck all since 2005, are they living on past glories?
If anything we are dying because of past glories, not living on them.
Every cunt in the world has an opinion on us and what we are doing, why don't they concentrate on their own teams?
At least we've got glory in our past, and lots of it. What the fuck have these no-mark supporters got to remember? That season they made it to the top flight then went straight back down with 23 points, or that Leyland Daf trophy final appearance.

On topic: it's a silly accusation but unfortunately it even gets trotted out by one or two on here sometimes. The suggestion seems to be that we still think we're better than we actually are. The truth of course is the mirror opposite of that - we know how much we still have to do to get back to the top precisely because we're still (just about) the most successful English club and have known glory days in the past. NOBODY is under any illusion that those days are way behind us. They still have value, though, in making sure we keep trying to get back up there, rather than accepting permanent second-rank status.
