Fuck it. I think what that shows more than anything is our mental fragility. As soon as we conceded, the whole team stopped playing with any tempo or confidence and we started looking nervous. Even at the end, when we should have been battering Sunderland, we just didn't look like we believed we could do it.
I don't think we should go overboard with the criticism, but it's obviously a very bad result. We need something from the Emirates now or the knives will be out.
I'd definitely start Dirk over Henderson, and I wouldn't pick Flanagan. He's not to blame for that performance; it's just one of the obvious dangers of playing kids. One mistake and they can fall to pieces.

fuck sake , the more things change, the more they stay the same .
Didn't get the second goal , let them back into it, and then you never felt we'd be able to pick it up again and get back in front or get a winner .
Ok , it's only the first game of the season when results can be a bit crazy , we've so many new players getting to know each other and we've 1 or 2 to come back into the team ....but it's frustrating that we're still seeing the same old flaws year on year despite management and player overhauls .

what's disappointing in the simply things we did first half we failed to do second half. henderson and flannigan tired very early, I don't think this is a coincedence considering how young they both are.

He nearly scored from a great run from the right.
I think they ran out of steam, had snatched at too many of their chances early on. Had been a little unlucky in other places. Suarez got tired, and he's the main guy pulling strings at the moment.... it'll improve.

hindsight is 20/20 but we really should have made the change of kelly and kuyt much earlier as flan and henderson were dead on their feet.

I'm fucking mad but it's the first game as long as the team learn from today and move forward we will be great. Sunderland are one of those teams that will get a few results like this. Plus I'm sure the king will kick the players arses be positive come on you reds. Also we need Glen at RB
