Probably partly to stop him & Firmino running into each other as Firmino drops back into the space where you'd expect him to be.

He still played a great pass to not lose the ball too. I was worried that it would go too far and play too safe and we'd lose one of his best traits, his calm and solid distribution, but so far it looks like he's hit the perfect balance.
