Jose Mourinho has swooped to sign 17-year-old Argentine Juan Lescano from Liverpool after the young striker failed to secure a work permit to stay in England.

The Academy prospect, who had yet to play any first team football for the Reds, has signed a four year deal at the Santiago Bernabeu and will now look to follow in the footsteps of Raul by forcing his way into the first team while still a teenager.

Speaking about the move to Spain, Lescano paid tribute to compatriots Javier Mascherano and Emiliano Insua stating:

"At Liverpool people like (Javier) Mascherano and (Emiliano) Insua helped me a lot, but after the legal problems this is a big opportunity for me.

Lescano is the second Argentine to move to Real this summer after the Spanish giants sealed a deal for Benfica winger Angel di Maria. The prospects of the duo being joined by national hero Diego Milito appear to have been hit with Inter Milan refusing to do business for the highly-rated striker.

Didn't know we even had this 'starlet' here.

On a side note, Milito to Madrid is interesting. I presume The Hig will just keep his head down and keep scoring. Milito and Higuain would shit goals between them, but is Milito needed?

We've got that many.

Well if he can't have a work permit then there isn't a lot we could do about it

Good luck to him.

HAHA

Like the Madrid youth academy really means something eh.

Apparently he was with us for months.

The laws in this country need changing.

The new UK Government is currently changing the law making it more difficult for non-EU immigrants to get work permits, so it's likely to mean less 'starlets' recruited from South America. That and Benitez and his scouts moving on!

Hodgson must have quite a network of contacts so I'm sure we'll be recruiting from a little nearer home.

Real Madrid youth academy is a joke.

Should have gone to a club that actually has a youth development policy in place, and where he will have a chance of first team football if he progresses well.

Who was the last player to come through Madrid's youth system?

Javier Portillo, 8 seasons ago.

We haven't exactly done well out of bringing players in from South America in terms of them impacting on the first team so I won't be losing much sleep over this to be honest

They're no Barcelona - very few clubs are - but to say they're a joke is harsh in the extreme.

Off the top of my head, I can think of Soldado, Granero, De La Red, Arbeloa, Miguel Torres who all came through the Real Madrid ranks in recent years.
