Liverpool have agreed in principle to sign Anzhi Makhachkala striker Lacina Traore next summer, according to reports of reports (!) in Russian newspaper Izvestia.
Traore scored an eyecatching goal against Liverpool in last week’s Europa League clash - and the Anfield club will be monitoring the lad for the rest of the season ahead of money talk... according to the player's agent.
Traore’s representative Dimitri Seluk reportedly said: "In addition to Liverpool, the list of clubs that have applied to purchase Traore includes Udinese.

"But I am afraid the Italians will not be able to pay my transfer value of the player.
"At the moment, Lacinia is content with his position at Anzhi. He recently signed a new contract until 2016.
"Traore has no need to hurry. We’ll go ahead and first let him get experience.
"I am an advocate of the gradual development of players. Remember the career of Yaya Toure? In 2005, I brought him to Metalurh Donetsk, then he moved to Olympiacos, then to Monaco and from there to Barcelona.
"Now Yaya is at Manchester City.
"Of course, Russia is not Traore’s final resting place. The day will come when he will play in the Premier League."
The 6"8 tall striker moved to Russia in 2011, signing for Kuban Krasnodar from Cluj. He scored 18 goals with Kuban, which alerted Anzhi Makhachkala, who swooped this summer. He has scored seven goals in 11 Russian Premier League matches so far this season.

We can, and will, do better ... He's a decent player, but we need much much better if the owners are serious about Rodgers and this team.

Fuck, he looked a lot like djimi Traore in that he was resembled a new born deer most of the time, legs bandying everywhere.

Not good enough, but then if we could have him now if take him in a heartbeat.

We've been linked with him before. He took his goal nicely enough, but my main thought while watching him was that I was glad the previous link hadn't led anywhere.

Ha ha ha if we wanted him why would we let Carroll go. Rubbish

Aaah, the old 'he's a tall target man' ergo they're all one and the same.

In the same way that every small player is Lionel Messi. Why on earth did we let Jay Spearing go!!!!onety

Do you have an alarm set up to alert you every time Dreamy comes within 5 feet of a PC? Or does your body just start to twitch involuntarily, and you just know..?

Yeah - It must be the same alarm that you have that alerts you to 'assert Moderator influence anytime there's any issue regardless of the fact that 4 mods have already said something IN THE EXACT SAME FUCKING THREAD'.

Looks Like everytime some players score against us is automatically linked. Downing, crouch, Etc etc. lazy scouting?

Dear Jesus, again with that bullshit. I've barely been on the fucking site for the past 18 months, and yet you just cannot wait to have a pop... What exactly is your fucking problem?

Calm down. You were the one who came after me in this thread.

Let's just let this thing go. It's barely even worth a debate.

And yet, you can't help yourself. But, as you wish...

For the record, I didn't "come after you". I asked you a question.

What are you babbling on about this time? Did you not get any last night/this morning or something?

From what I've seen of this lad he looks like Bambi on ice up front but is good in the air and can score but is not as mobile as one would hope for in Rodgers system(s). So yes in that regard I would put him in the 'doesn't fit our system' bracket like Carrol. I never said they were the exact same player. Your Messi point is laughably poor by your standard of insults. The 1 time I questioned the wiseness of letting Spearing go was after you yourself stating Allen had to take up that role as we had no other DM in our squad after Lucas's injury, hence switching our entire formation away from 4 1 2 3 to 4 2 1 3 to accomdate our lack of a DM who can cover the back four and make the '2nd pass'.

I do enjoy your useless WUM attempts though. Passes the week when internationals are on.

Yes I almost hate international weeks as much as the summers without a WC or a EC.
International friendlies during the football season are the worst thing. F*cking pointless for the most part

Well, we played on Sunday and we're playing next on Saturday so I'm left wondering what you are complaining about.

Yes, this WUM attempt didn't work at all did it?

Well A WUM usually looks to anger the poster and I'm not at all so ya I'd say it didn't.

As you were.

No. Let me help you out here.

A WUM attempt looks to "wind up" the poster, not "anger" them otherwise it'd be called an AM. The clue's in the title Dreamy.

What a rubbish rebuttal

And to hammer home the point

wind someone up
  • 1British informal tease or irritate someone: she’s only winding me up
  • 2make tense or angry: he was clearly wound up and frantic about his daughter
