Did we 'earn' those kind of calls all the time too? I'm just wondering if this is what you get when you are that good for so long like we once were ...
 
I don't recall it happening much in those days, but then I'm biased. What IMO is more significant is that I also don't recall allegations from other managers/fans that it was happening. Our dominance was every bit as complete as ManUre's, but we didn't get accused nearly as often of having help from referees.
 
The big giveaway with utd is how they've struggled in Europe for the last two decades compared to at home. They don't get those decisions there.

Our good teams have always done well in Europe too.
 
What I think is most significant is that you never heard the likes of Shanks or Paisley trying to impugn the integrity of referees. When Ginsoak started it, at the same time that he started encouraging a more bitter brand of tribalism among his own club's fans, it sort of made sense in a cynical way, but he still does it now that he is at the top and hugely powerful, when it shouldn't be needed, let alone attempted.
 
That's an excellent encapsulation of the reason why his knighthood "for services to football" was and is a sick joke.
