LFC Ticket forgers jailed

When I went the spurs away game I had to pick up a ticket and there was a queue of foreign peeps who had paid 250 quid or whatever for a season ticket only to find it didn't work. Thing is the ticket office were activating them if they paid for the match. I don't know how that system works, that you can turn your ticket on and off and the seat isn't resold, but it would seem to be the club enabling the blaggers in that case.

I presume the touts are using the ticket exchange system to rip people off.

What is the Ticket Exchange Scheme?
It's a service we offer to Season Ticket Holders who are unable to attend Barclays Premier League home games due to other commitments. Season Ticket Holders can release their seat using the Ticket Exchange Scheme and that seat will be made available to other Official Members to purchase once all of the Club's allocation is sold.

Their card won't be activated for that game and they sell it on for 250 quid or whatever. I presume then they pay the £15 to get a replacement card and carry on. They could also be just pawning off old cards as legitimate ones and the buyer won't know until they are at the turnstiles. I doubt the club would continue to re issue cards for the season ticket holder if they continued to use this trick but they could have a back log of old expired and fake cards to pawn off.

Yeah but if you give your ticket back to the exchange then surely they put in on general sale... and surely it will sell. That match was sold out ages in advance. I didn't understand it at all. Mind you I had just done a massive hoof of ket and everything had gone woblong so it is possible I wasn't picking up the exact issue.

Too coherent for a massive hoof sorry.

True, you're right, minor hoofs at that stage.

Related, I've got eight tickets for tonights warehouse project modeselektor gig. Everyone has cried off due to the overket and overbooze... so I'm left holding these fricking tickets and will gladly give them away to anyone who wants them. Hmm... I think two are being used. But at least 4, maybe 6 actual non-fake free tickets.

Posted in a thread about ticket fraud.

Yeah that seat will go back on sale and some randomer will buy it online at the late availability sale (about two weeks before the game) and his card will then be activated and he'll be allowed entry on his card. The original ticket holders card is deactivated just for that game and a credit (the cost of the ticket) will be applied to his account and can be used against the cost of their season ticket the following season. I think what I'm saying is correct anyway.

Yeah, but at Spurs the ripped off peeps were being told that they could re-activate the card for the price of the ticket.

Can you still "rent" season tickets for the match from that big house near Anfield? That always worked quite well.

Surely away matches are ticketed or can you somehow use your season ticket/membership card for entry to an away ground?

Ooh, that is odd. Unless there was some seats that became available in the final hour. Don't know so man.

I would have taken one of you!
Enjoy the gig!
