AS confirmed earlier tonight, a club record-breaking kit deal has been announced between Liverpool FC and New Balance Football and the Reds’ Chief Commercial Officer, Billy Hogan, says the club are “excited” about the news.
Hogan said: “We are thrilled to announce this sponsorship of one of the world’s leading sportswear brands, which is a record-breaking deal for the Club.
“Like Liverpool FC,” he added, “New Balance has over 100 years of heritage and a global footprint.

“Not only are they well known for their technical innovation across a range of sports but they also have a presence in many countries across the world, which will all feature LFC kit. We are very excited about joining forces with them.”
New Balance Football takes over from Warrior Football, both brand names from parent company New Balance, but the Boston-based firm has chosen to use its own name now in its assault on the “global football” market. Warrior will now focus on lacrosse and ice hockey.
No figures were officially revealed as to the value of the deal but it is believed the deal is worth a minimum of $40m (£26m) per year for the Anfield side.
From next season New Balance Football not only be the name on Liverpool’s match kits but also on “all training apparel”. Liverpool kits will go on sale around the world in New Balance retail stores as part of the deal, a move which NB say “will drive New Balance’s growth and entry into the football market.”
Richard Wright, New Balance Football’s General Manager, is also glad the deal is done: “Liverpool FC is one of the most successful and decorated clubs in world football,” he says, “and we’re delighted to partner with the club.
“The sponsorship represents an important step for New Balance launching into football and reflects the global growth ambitions of the brand. Over the course of the contract New Balance will bring innovation and world class product to Liverpool FC and its global fan base.”
The joint press statement also points out that: “New Balance’s sponsorship with Liverpool FC continues the strong and ongoing relationship with Fenway Sports Group (FSG). The sportswear manufacturer also has a long-standing relationship with the Boston Red Sox and has previously been involved with Roush Fenway, both owned by FSG.”
At a launch event this evening, taking place at the same time as Liverpool were beating Bolton 2-1 in the FA Cup 4th round replay, New Balance Football also revealed the individual players they will be sponsoring under the new brand name.

This is the higher end - united..

Sportswear giant Adidas has signed a £750m deal to make Manchester United's kit for 10 years from next season.

It comes after US rival Nike decided to end its association at the end of the 2014-15 season.

Nike has been paying United £23.5m a year, and the new deal is worth a world record-breaking £75m ($128m) a season to the Old Trafford club.

Champions League winner Real Madrid's £31m-a-year deal with Adidas was previously the biggest club deal.

Adidas will provide training and playing kit to all the club's teams and will have the exclusive right to distribute dual-branded merchandising products worldwide.

The huge sum involved is only £40m less than the Glazer family paid for the club in 2005.

So United make 50m a year more.. Than our just announced record breaking deal.

Honestly not disparaging our deal, it just tells a tale!

Not that black and white, we get a shit ton of the sales and UTD get near fuck all. Probably fairly comparative by end of year.

Is this actually a new deal, though? Sounds more like an announcement of the re-branding to New Balance from Warrior, which IIRC was for six seasons at £25m a year, or about the same as this.

No, I think it's just the re-announcement of the old deal. NB and Warrior are the same company, and the money's the same.... and there's still time to run on the initial deal.

It's the initial deal, basically. But a new announcement to publicise the new focus on this brand.

Pretty much this I believe. I'd think this NB deal probably just picks up the remaining 3 (?) seasons of the current Warriors contract.

Yep.

It's just to get them publicity & to explain to people who don't understand that new balance & warrior are kinda the same thing.

Except that new balance makes everyone laugh & say 'gay', whereas warrior was simply 'who?'

Ah well, I suppose it could have been kappa.

Pretty much this, although it looks like the price has nominally increased as a token gesture.

Did they just spend a year or two promoting Warrior to then ditch the brand? Seems pretty silly.

Hopefully they come up with some better away kits!

I don't know why we have to constantly change the colour of our away kit. I mean, one year its yellow, then black, then grey/silver, or purple or my favorite has always been the white shirt/black shorts combo. It drives me crazy why we can't be consistent, I hate mentioning the Gooners but at least they always stay true to their traditional colour……red and white and then the yellow and blue away.

Speaking of away kits - I think we've actually won the yellow away kit only 6 times in the league and 3 times in all cup competitions this season so far. I don't think we've even worn the 3rd kit in any competition yet.

Money talks, innit.

The sweatshops owned by NB churn out shoes that are as good, and in some cases better than other shoe makers.

The owners like their Boston Based connections... first Dunkin Donuts, now this (even though its just a continuation, it would seem).

Don't despair, the financials have not been released. I can't imagine it would be much different to the current deal which will then be renegotiated when the warrior deal runs out. Why would NB pay us more money than they have already agreed?
