Lewandowski/Klopp Style of Play

I haven't seen much of Lewandowski however Klopp obviously helped develop him in to the player he is and also use him effectively in the framework of how he likes to set up his team to play.
Based on his characteristics who is the nearest we have to his style of play and if we don't who could be a potential target?

Maybe his compatriot Milik from Ajax would suit that bill?

Origi is arguably the closest in terms of style and remains a favorite of Klopp because he fits into his tactics and meets his work demands. The issue Klopp has is Sturrudge is more proven, more talented and a better finisher. It's a good problem to have but it will be interesting to see how he balances it or resolves it next year when the demand for games will be less and we'll begin to see Klopps impression on this squad become more evident.

Sturridge was working noticeably harder in one or two of our closing games last season than he had before. I'd like to think we could see more progress along those lines, because it'll take megabucks to buy Sturridge-level talent again.

Icardi. Would be very expensive but IMO he is the type of striker we need.

I certainly noticed that, to me it looked like he was getting used to trusting how far he could push his body but also that he wasn't entirely match fit. Lets hope Hodgepodge doesn't fuck him up and he can have a proper preseason.

Even with megabucks I can't tell you who would want to replace him. He's very unique and quality strikers are in short supply.

Icardi, Lacazette, Ben Yedder.

Josip Drmic would come quite cheaply right now, and fits the mold as well.

One player I personally like as a veteran signing for our style of play is Raffael. Very underrated player.

Batshuayi from Marseille is an option.
Good player.
Origi is gonna be a star though if he keeps the injuries at bay.

For me Lewandowski's big strength is his ability to hold up the ball under pressure – he is one of the very best, if not the best striker in the world in that aspect of the game. So he is very much a team player who contributes with more than just his goals. He was not a natural goal-scorer when he started in Dortmund and developed this aspect year after year.

Almost all of the players mentioned in this thread are nothing like Lewandowski in that respect. Icardi and Drmic seem more like fox-in-the-box types who depend on service and Lacazette, from the little I've seen, seems more like a second striker. I agree that closest one in terms of style is actually Origi. I doubt Klopp will try to sign a centre-forward this summer; there are a lot of other holes in the squad to fill before that and we actually have a good amount of talent up front.

We've been linked quite a bit with Embolo, but he can play out wide aswell I think.

Agree with that, but I'm not convinced Klopp necessarily needs a single type of striker. Any intelligent player with quality and workrate will do well I feel.

You compare Lewandowski, Reus, and Aubameyang you end up with three very different players.
