I'll kick it off. Here's another classic from one of the Lucas cult, who had earlier claimed that Lucas is brilliant in the air.

I always think Gerrard is a bit shit in the air, to be honest. Great at attacking the ball, but he's not much good competing for 50/50 headers, it's a rare game where you see him consistently winning flick ons.
 
My favourites are the series of massive threads on tactics.

I wonder what "level" Rafa's Liverpool is at now.

You're only allowed on there if you have access to a plethora of meaningless stats (facts) to prove that Rafa is in fact building the perfect total football philosophy. I got banned when I pointed out that he in fact is a defensive minded coach and prefers fitness to the use of the ball.

At 22, Vieira was a loose cannon, Frank Lampard still had the Jr after his name and Steven Gerrard had the worst season he's had in a red shirt.

They didnt turn out too badly did they?

Nah, they use dissertations that reference literature such as Rinus Michel's book.

Some of it is actually quite interesting in parts, but it's so ridiculously biased and distorted to fit whatever they're trying to prove, the whole thing becomes rather obnoxious.
 
Yes, there's obviously some knowledgable well written people on there, though most seemed to have gained that knowledge from reading books on every so called tactical genius rather than their own frame of reference. There's one in particular who couldn't make a succinct insight into the game if it bit him on the arse and every post is a rambling patronising essay. Some of the stuff written about Lucas is truly unreal.

There's another idiot who claims Alonso had a 'poor first touch' and was therefore incapable of playing the pass and move game that Rafa always wanted. Whereas Lucas' mobility means he is far more suited to Rafa's pass and move blueprint.

Beyond comical that.
 
The biggest problem with Rawk is that they take themselves too seriously. Having said that there have been certain legendary threads there. The Art Vandelay Photoshop thread has to be one of the best ever on any LFC forums.

Ha. Lot of forums go through that phase depending on who the dominating posters are. RAWK seems to be in that phase permanently. I remember a poll on TLW four years ago - " Who would you have in our team: Momo or Ronaldinho". This was when Ronaldinho was at his peak. Momo won.

If you're talking about what you think your talking about I thought that was a brilliant article.
basically starting out making your team hard to beat (phase 1) moving right through to making your team a fluid passing, crushing machine (phase 5). that was an excellent read, obviously putting something like that into practice is easier said than done as there are factors to take into account (players coming and going, loss of form, lorn term injuries).

I think lucas is rubbish so there is no comparison with the above players but;

at one stage of vieira's young career he was a nobody in italy with whinger turning his career around.

who would have thought lampard would have matured to the player he has? that certainly wasn't on the cards when he was at west ham with carrick and cole being more highly rated.

gerrard is gerrard, even back then you could see he would go on to be the very best in the world.

still doesn't change the lucas is shit, usually you see 'something' in a player that marks them out to be special or at worse better than mearly competant. seriously what has lucas shown in the time he has been here?

Exactly my case, I got a permanent ban for not singing Rafa's praise. I truly suspect the Admin there are in bed with Rafa.

personally I think its good to have a site of zealots. when liverpool is in a slump (often) sometimes I want to just read pages and pages of optimisism rather than pages and pages of doom and gloom which gets pretty fucking boring if that's all you read.

Last time I was on there they had an 87 page thread along the lines of 'your unintelligent if you dont support Rafa'

It's actually called 'are there any intelligent Reds who want Rafa out' and still going strong. It's the most patronising, pseudo intellectual drivel I've ever had the misfortune to read. 'Look at me, aren't I really intelligent because I've got a shitty media degree and plenty of spare time to write stupidly long posts about how incredibly stupid everyone is who doesn't love the manager unconditonally and back it up with pointless stats and dramatic hyperbole'.

I know plenty of intelligent people who want Rafa out and they wouldn't be seen dead trying to justify why on RAWK.
