For anyone wanting another team in Australia - you can have :

Melbourne Victory (the blue half of Melbourne)
Perth Glory (formerly managed by Steve McMahon & Fowler played for).
Adelaide Utd (play in red - but South Australia has more serial killers than anywhere else in oz)
Sydney FC (Coventry colours)
Western Sydney Wanderers (brand new team this year)
Newcastle Jets (barcodes)
Central Coast Marriners ( play in the wonderfully named Bluetongue Stadiym
Brisbane Roar (champions last 2 seasons)
Wellington Pheonix (Kiwi Team)

Aussie leagues are a little different - once the league season finishes the top 6 teams play off in a knock out competition to determine the Champions. Whoever wins the league are the Premiers and quite often they don't go on to be Champions.

There is no cup competition and no relegation.

Is there one of these teams that has a hooligan element among their supporters that are also supporters of Golden Dawn?

So Ajax won 6-1 away from home to NEC today, pretty much the whole team played well and and the goals were well spread throughout the team.

Ajax play pretty much the same system as Liverpool do and it can be scintilating when done right but thats usually when you have by and large the better players

10 minutes to go in Betis' first game of the season and theyve just gone 4-3 up away to Bilbao. Betis were 3 nil up and Bilbao came back to 3-3 with our ex San Jose scoring twice. Cracking game of ball.

Sounds like Melbourne Victory. With fan groups called the Southern Death Crew, you can only wonder.

Might be South Melbourne though.

Melbourne Heart attract Olympiakos Fans because of the colours.

Olympiakos have a bit of a reputation too, their fans invaded the pitch the other season and abused Cisse. That was one of the reasons he gave for leaving Greece. The rumour was that club staff were in on the invasion, the stewards turned the other way while the invasion happened etc.

Could be a load of balls though.

Greek fans are nutters - I had a large groups of them in during the euros - telling them that letting off flares outside the pub wasn't acceptable was fun.

Ok so i watched my first Sociedad game yesterday.
For the opening 2 minutes they were well in it. The Barca went spastic on them.
For a brief hearbeat the front 2 looked like making a game of it with 2 lovely attacks (created by Griezman who was excellent whenever they had the ball) the second of which carved Barca apart for a goal. But to be quite honest i dont really have much for you all after that as they just never had the ball.
At first glimpse the lad Griezman looked great other than that I got nuttin for ya man.
5-1 to Barcelona.

So The mighty Urawa Reds won their derby on Saturday against Kashima Antlers 2-1. They have moved up to 3rd! Bring it!

Hellas Verona, based in the beautiful Italian city of Verona, currently reside in Seria B.
Their golden period was from the early 80's through to early 2000's winning the Seria A title in 1985.
After a number of seasons staving off relegation the finally lost their Seria A status in 2003. Further relegation followed and after a number of seasons in Seria C they were promoted back into Seria B two seasons ago.
Last season seen them miss out on promotion. Despite being well placed going into the last half dozen games a poor finish meant they only made the play off places subsequently losing the semi final.
This season has started with a Tim cup win over Genoa. They won 4-1 on penalties after the tie finished 1-1 after extra time.
With high hopes of returning to the top flight their Seria B campaign starts on Friday 24th August, with an evening kick off, (which will hopefully mean a stream)

Note all of the above is from memory so you may like to authenticate the accuracy of it all from a more reputable source like Wikapedia

Good summary. For the record I'm loving the return and your Donald Sutherland avatar. Old school!

I might attempt it tomorrow

It might be safer to let Ross do it though...

Santos won their last game on 19th Aug, i'd have posted it then but had patchy internet.

Anyways they beat Corinthians 3-2, and they're lower-mid table.

Andre Felipe, Neymar's strike partner scored two. Felipe is 21 and has 4 caps for Brazil, he left there for Europe and played for Dynamo Kiev and Bordeaux for a bit but he's back at Santos now.

They're playing Boca in the copa something soon too which should be a good watch.

Melbourne Heart just announced the signing of Socceroo Richard Garcia from Hull City.

I have to say this - he's being marketed as being good on the basis of the fact he played "alongside Michael Carrick & Joe Cole". Yippee.

He'll actually be a great signing for Heart.

Griezman did impress. He was linked with some big clubs a year or two ago but (obviously) hasn't gotten a move yet.

Will be interesting to see how he does this year.

wish id picked a team that played sooner!

How are people watching their games anyways? just internet streams?

We we're linked to him a season or two ago.
