I'm keen to see another side of the game this season and I was wondering if anyone wants to join me. I'm thinking we get some volunteers to vaguely follow a club in Europe and the lower leagues of the English game, try and watch the games whenever possible, and report anything interesting that happens to that club, or in the league in general, and note down any decent players you see.

I'm hoping for 2 volunteers each for Germany, Italy and Spain, but the more the better.

And then for some down for the lower leagues of the English game as well.

I'm hopeful of Pesam and Bologna signing up. Anyone else?

I've watched Barcelona almost as much as Liverpool for years now. I try and watch some of the other teams as well (Real Madrid I find exceedingly difficult to see these days!).

I usually mention young players in the lower league who look promising and I'll endeavour to post more often. I have a feeling that, after predicting a huge future for Nick Powell 18 months ago, my next BIG THING is going to be another Crewe player, Max Clayton. I haven't seen very much of him but from what I've heard and the little bits I have witnessed he could be even better than Powell.

He's just turned 18 this week and in his first game of the season scored twice in their League Cup win.

I'll report on anyone-and-everyone but with a special eye on Clayton.

I have a very passing interest in Hellas Verona in Serie B having read the book about following them for a season by Tim Parkes.
I will try to keep a closer eye on them for the upcoming season.

I watch Barca every week regardless. I used to watch a lot more of the likes of Sevilla, Valencia but that's tailed off in the last season or two so I'll try pick it up again!

Valencia are interesting team because they've done some good things in the transfer market with very little money recently. Molby should do them though because he knows them pretty well!

I'm going for SC Freiburg in the Bundisliga.

Oncy, their all time goal scorer is Joachin Low with 81 goals in 252 games during his three spells at the club.

Also, Freiburg has traditionally bounced between the first and second tier of the German football league system, leading to the fan chant "We go down, we go up, we go into the UEFA Cup!" during the 1990s.
