Matip and Lovren both missed training today.

Happy Thursday!

Maybe we'll just play two at the back and dispense with the notion that we have any desire to defend

We'll actually win here.
We haven't for the last two seasons. Even when they were shit last season they still beat us 3-1. Season before they beat us 2-0. If Matip and Lovren are out its going to be a painful game to watch.

Good. They are not good centre backs, I'm sure Gomez will do better, and if it's possible to give another kid a chance before Klavan, that will be nice as well.

To be fair no-one could have predicted that we'd end up thinking about starting Milner at centre half. It's just unlucky.

Last season they just changed manager, which often has an impact. Season before they were champions (which still feels as odd as an odd thing from odd town, county odd).
Also, bearing in mind the unbending rule of football that if you play the same team twice in quick succession the result is ALWAYS different, I agree we will win this one comfortably, Klavan will play a blinder and Allie OC will score a hat trick.

Attack needs to be on point. A clean sheet is highly unlikely right now, so we have to look to outscore them. Shame we'll have no Mané, hopefully Coutinho will start and Firmino will come back out of his shell - I think we'll need at least three goals.

I'd think about giving Solanke a game. Their CBs will be physical and he can act as a lightning rod for that while we run rings around the rest of them.

This line up please:

-------------------Mignolet

Trent----Matip-----Lovren----Moreno

--------Milner----Can----Wijnaldum

--Salah-------Firmino-----Coutinho

Subs. Don't care.

Overall, yes

but gini away from home?

Shame grujic played last night tbh.

Do we have anyone else except 'you know who' and Grujic? Like I said if Lallana or Mané was around it would have been a no brainer.
If Can takes the DM role with Milner supporting him, Wijnaldum might do well in midfield.
Key people here are still Coutinho, Salah and Firmino.
Sturridge impressed in the 2nd half against Burnley but I'd still like to see Firmino upfront.
That line up gets us 3 points.
