NBA superstar LeBron James has handed Liverpool players a huge incentive to get their season on track and land silverware this season: a massive party in Las Vegas.

Brendan Rodgers is under scrutiny after the Merseyside club landed just one point from their opening three games, but the Miami Heat star made a promise to captain Steven Gerrard in the summer which he intends to keep.
James has vowed to give the players a lavish party they will never forget in Sin City, co-hosted by his pal, rap star Kanye West.

LeBron told The S*n: 'I spent some time with Steven Gerrard and he is passionate about his team.
'Everybody in sport needs incentive and if the guys at Liverpool win something this year I will give them the best weekend of their life in Vegas.
'Kanye is in and trust me, nobody does Vegas like LeBron and Kanye.'
LeBron added: 'We will take them to places in Vegas 99 per cent of people don’t even know exist. There is Vegas and then there is Vegas.'
He plans to visit Anfield this season with Kanye and his other big hip-hop pal Jay-Z to meet the players again.
But he has revealed he will jet to England to watch Liverpool play at some stage this season. And he's bringing some high-profile friends, too.
LeBron said: 'I am coming over to see a game soon with Kanye and Jay-Z so maybe we can talk more about the trip then.
'From a business point of view if Liverpool do well, I do well, so it is in my interest to offer this incentive.'

Wow. What an incentive that truly is. What does he mean by "win something" though ? Will a single game suffice ?

That wouldn't incentivise me. Spending time with a load of hip hop fuckwits. Great.

On the plus side they will be able to teach our team how to shoot...

And in return our players could teach them to read and write.

you think our players can read and write ? i'm not so confident .

The irony is both Lebron and Kanye are better educated than everyone in our squad, and Lebron only spent a year in college

Ha, probably. It just took me back to a conversation I had with a taxi driver in New Jersey when he stated basketball players could "do anything with a basketball apart from sign their names on it". Part of that conversation was also about ticket prices. He was bemoaning the fact it cost about $250 to take a family of four to an ice hockey game. It was some years ago and I remember being a bit shocked at how expensive it was but, if I think about it now, you're probably looking at around $300 for tickets alone to go to Anfield nowadays. It all creeps up doesn't it ?

Really? I'm pretty sure I remember reading somewhere that most colleges' sports programs have minimum GPA requirements to be able to continue, be eligible to sign for the draft etc. That'd at least ensure they won't be THAT thick.

Yep the premiership is as cynical and corporate as any American sport now, although it has yet to reach the level of fuckwhitery that saw the above mentioned James stage a televised press conference to announce which multi million dollar contract he would be signing

Great - Kanye & Jay-Z could do a cover of the Anfield Rap.

Yea yea huh that's right uh yea!

At Anfield,
This football will inspire you
Although we lose too
We just cant buy a goal
We have no strikers
The regime is fucked too
lets hear it for Anfield Anfield Anfield....

Great, let's bring some more whoppers to the game

Its a shame we didn't sign Clint, that would have been the cup final song sorted in collaboration with Kanye.

Yeah I can see Kanye and his entourage having a bevvy in the Black Horse. That would be something to see

what's this other Vegas? do you get to snort Elvis's ashes and fuck JFK's corpse?

I thought the whole place was the most vacuous dump I'd ever been, maybe there's more to it than meets the balls.
