Hi Folks,
As I may have briefly mentioned before, on the 21st August I will be embarking on a two week cycle ride from Lands End in Cornwall to John O Groats in Scotland. The route we are taking will be aproximately 1050 miles and we are aiming to complete it in 12-13 days.
There is a group of 6 of us and we are doing this for local charity that I have very stong connections with. It is a school for children aged 4-19 with disabilities and severe learning difficulties. It is a school that my older sister went to for 10 years and I was always compeltely in awe with the great work that the staff do there.
The school is currently trying to raise money for an interactive playground which will have things like a paddling pool that the kids can play in whilst a large screen plays a video of waves crashing on a beach and wave noises are played at the same time. This sounds like a pretty good bit of kit so I helped the school to set themselves up on a fundraising site and they have said that all money raised will go straight to funding this instead of getting lost in admin fees which can tend to happen with larger charities.
Any donation anyone can make would be great appreciated. I will do my best to keep you all updated about my progress!
Also, if anyone has any tips for long rides then chuck them in here too!
