Here we go. One of the biggest games in our calendar and he doesn't even makes the bench. He always plays like he is going to fall over and his fancy turns doesn't impressed. Apparently he is almost world class to some. I don't think he's even Dirk Kuyt's class. Perhaps more of a scoring threat than most of our players but based on overall performance so far, we need better than him in our first eleven.

He hasn't lived up to his valuation, that's for sure. But I think he's been a good signing all in all.
The problem is that he's turning into an expensive squad player.
Chelsea just bought Cuadrado (jury's out) for a few million more than we paid for Lallana.

Do we know if he was dropped or injured today?
I thought the boss would have used him more than he has when he's been fit, a strange one.

He's not done anything even close to justify the fee. He's had a very interrupted season thus far though. His pressing and striker-esque runs make space for other players

He needs to stand his authority on games and pull more strings though

He's a good player. Who has been hampered by injuries. Was it a necessary signing?

You say hampered by injuries I say below average physically - which is why I said previously he'll be back in the championship before he's 30.

He's never going to justify the price and I don't see anyone offering to take him off our hands for anything close to what we paid.

This is one of the many high risk, fingers crossed signings that has us midtable

It's obvious when he's in the team that our pressing game improves (he covers as much ground as Hendo), that we are more of a threat as he is able to go past defenders, creates lots of space around him, is genuinely gifted with both feet, has creativity and an eye for a defence splitting pass and he tracks back really well, he is also a goal-scorer and we have far too few of those in our team.

Unfortunately he missed most of pre-season, has had an injury interrupted season so far, has missed having a striker of genuine class he can feed, and there has been one slot less for our genuine flair/forwards whenever Stevie is gifted a slot.

The fact he is so versatile, able to play LW, AM or RW, increases his value to us and ensures we have quality cover for Sterling and Coutinho. If we consider our First team as 14 players and not 11 then long-term he is a very valuable member of that 14 and I'm sure next season he will play a major part in our resurgence.

He's a great player when he's fit, no doubt. Until he can play well for 90 mins he won't be an every game starter which is what he needs. Same with allen

He seems to play well for only 25% of the time he is on the pitch. He has his moments but is not consistent enough. He presses, yes, but so does Kuyt and he doesn't even have half the end product of the Dutchman.

All these talk of injuries and missing of a pre-season hampering him are all valid points. But he has played in England his entire career, ex-captain and an England International and in the prime of his career. We need very much better from him especially with the hectic fixtures coming up.

Wonderful ability with the ball. Works hard. Big question mark against him is too many matches just pass him by.

He's been a good signing. Certainly more to come from him.
Cant wait to see him playing behind Sturridge.

We overpaid but that was exected given the inflated English fees, him being captain, long contract and Soton reluctance to sell.

I agree. He's a good player and he'll only get better as he gets a prolonged run. Missing the preseason and having injuries hasn't helped.

He's had a hit and miss season so far. You can see he's a quality player but he's waaayyyy too lightweight. I wouldnt say he's been value for money so far, but allen has been A LOT worse

He already has. The guy is second or third on Morse's MOTM thread FFS. Some of his performances have been better than others but the stuff about him having an iffy season is kneejerk nonsense.

He's been a site favourite since we were first linked to him. It'd hardly be surprising if the MOTM stats were biased towards him.

Decent player but needs to stay fit.

So far hasn't been worth the money but that could change.

Except the MOTM tables are compiled from the votes of numerous Liverpool suporters sites.
