Signing both probably means no money for a CB... Which would be stupid because while we need more depth and variety in attack, we don't have a functional CB pairing at present. IMO nothing would improve our team more than a good CB to partner either Sakho or Skrtel.

Voted Shakiri, but it does depend on if the other 9-7m is going to make the difference in another deal.
If it was purely one or the other, money's no object type thing, I'd go with Lallana since he's proven in the league.

I want both. We're linked quite a lot with Sanchez now aswell. Though that may be a bit tougher to pull off.

I can't see us ending up with Sanchez, but a window similar to that of Lambert, Can, Moreno, Lallana, Sanchez and Lovren would be fantastic and beyond anything anyone could realistically expect.

It has to be said, it's a fucking brilliant time to be a Liverpool fan. We've paid our dues, but I cannot wait for next season with the squad we have and the potential we're signing. Add to that Champions League football
I'm moving back home soon too, so can't wait to see us live again.

Different types of players really. Lallana more of a number 10 who can play wide, Shaqiri more of a wide man. I think we could definitely get them both, but it might mean Borini heading off.

I like Lallana and think he's the better player, but do not like the price. From watching him this season, he's good, but looks no where near a '25 million pound player' should look like. If he wasn't english, and was playing for a bottom half italian club, I think he'd look more like a 5-10mill sort of player.

I wont be disappointed if we get him, as he's a good player, but I think 25mill is way way over the odds.

I think for 25mill you could buy a lot of very very good players out there for different positions, and a lot better than Lallana.

Shaqiri is 22, plays for the former European Champions / Bundesliga winners, played in the Champions League with Basel, won stuff with Basel, has 30 something caps for Switzerland etc....

Lallana was playing league 1 a few years back.....

Shaqiri is cheaper, younger and has better experience overall.....

Surely its a no brainer????

Lallana is the better footballer that's all that matters. Lallana would offer a lot more to our attack than Shaqiri.

I'm not so sure about that. Shaqiri's a pretty good footballer.

Shaqiri is a decent footballer, but doesn't offer the versatility that lallana does. Lallana has a better work rate, 2 footed and more creative. Shaqiri is just a winger who isn't even as good as sterling.

You're quite unfair here.

Lallana isn't as good as Sterling either.

And Lallana's work rate is no way near Shaqiri's.

But each to their own I guess.

If we could sign Shaqiri for 16 million and Lallana for 25 million it's an absolute no-brainer.

Lallana is a good player, but what guarantee is there that he will be a hit or progress if he moved to us?

At least with Shaqiri he is still young enough to mould more than Lallana

Shaqiri is better than Lallana, younger than Lallana and cheaper than Lallana.
So for that reason, I want Lallana. Its too good to be true.

Shaqiri had some elasticos, stepovers and what not going on in a compilation vid someone posted, so for that reason, I'm in.

I like Lallana but I also like Shaqiri. But which is better? There's only one way to find out...

I just want the better player. Saving 9m is pointless if he isnt as good.

Lallana's workrate is only just under hendo's for the season. Shaqiri lacks the versatility of lallana.

Does he?

As far as I know Lallana can play AM or wide midfield. Shaqiri can play RW, LW, or AM. Seems pretty similar to me.

Thats really hard to believe, no way near? Shaqiri must be the hardest working footballer out there if thats the case.
