The 3rd striker thread is closed I think.

Apparently Klose could be available on a free. I think with champs league football next season, he could be an interesting third option to bring into the squad. Different kind of player, technically good and would be content to play third fiddle. More importantly he does score. He could allow one of our young strikers (Sinclair or the bosnian lad) playing time too. A Gary Mac striker equivalent? Riedlesque signing?
 
Why? Why would we want him? It's such a poor move for a bloke past the twilight of his career. I'd rather have Borini. There, I said it.
 
I've always liked Klose ... he is never ever mentioned when we talk about the best strikers going around.

I've never though of him as being world class, but he is a very simple footballer who is very smart in regards to tactics - this is the main reason he has been so successful at the international level.

And this is what Klose had to say not long ago:

"I have two teams that I follow with pleasure and curiosity.

"In England, it is Liverpool and in Italy, I like the Inter of Mourinho, who I consider to be a great coach"
 
I really wanted us to sign him last year, but at this point probably the ship has sailed.
 
If we were desperate for a short-term solution there just *might* be an argument for signing him. We aren't, so there isn't. IMHO of course.
 
I like using him in Fifa just because everytime he gets the ball Martin Tyler shouts "MIROSLAV KLOSE!!!!!!" even if he's on the ball at half way.
