I don't think we should take Messi snub to heart. Messi probably voted for Bayern players this year...Surely he just votes for whatever team humiliates Barca in the CL? Last year it was us and now it's Bayern.

Alisson not in the Top 3 keepers? Klopp not in the Top 3 managers ?!

[article]Mourinho was asked what he thought of the German manager's award and said he believed Bayern Munich's Hans-Dieter Flick should have won it.

"I think the only chance for Flick to win is if Bayern find two or three new competitions for him to win," Mourinho said.

"So maybe if he wins seven titles in one season, maybe he wins the award.

"I believe he only won the Champions League, the Bundesliga, German Cup, European Super Cup and German Super Cup.

"He only won five, including the biggest one of all.

"Poor Flick. I think the only chance is for Bayern to find two or three more trophies to see if he can win it."[/article]

Did Flick deliver anything unexpected? Bayern are expected to do a domestic clean sweep and reach the semis in Europe.

To be fair.. he has a point. I thought it should have been Flick taking off my rose tinted spectacles.

They have won 8 league titles on the run and 6 out of the last 10 cups. So I don’t think winning those in any season is unexpected.
I agree somewhat. But Dortmund got a record PPG and still didn't win the league. Much like us in 2019.

Couple that with the CL where they won every game.

Flick should have had the manager of the year.

I'd have seen an argument if Klopp won another trophy or went unbeaten.

But Bayern were on another level.

Yeah and Klopp managed to do something 6 managers before him couldn't.

It’s definitely not cut and dry if it should be one or the other. I would give it to Klopp for our first title in a generation and smashing records left right and centre. It’s easily forgotten how dominant we were in the league.

He’s trying to lure and engage Klopp into ‘mind games’. Pantomime villain, except that nobody will give him the attention he wants. Klopp’s too big hearted and humble to allow his ego to be pricked by a small man like Jose. He’ll just laugh it off like he always does.

The most important is the team don’t allow it to affect their focus.

I was on a Bavarian website earlier today and I have to say that Flick's record ia absolutely outstanding .. and not just in Germany.

Hansi Flick won the QUINTUPLE. He took a team that was sitting fourth place in November after Kovač was fired and went on to not only have the longest winning streak in Champions League history but also break other records. Flicki-Flaka went on to obliterate his opponents. 8-2 Barcelona. 7-2 Chelsea. He went 8-0 in the Champions League and led Bayern to an overall 11-0 if you include this year. The first time that had ever happened.

I mean, Hansi Flick has literally won more trophies (5) than Games he’s lost as Bayern's manager (3) since he’s taken charge. He even won UEFA Coach of the Year.

And that's what he, rightly in my opinion, won it on the back of. However I doubt anyone would have complained if Flick had won it.

Would have had no complaints if Flick had won it.
Funny to see Mourinho getting engaged in this and people lapping it up like old Mou is back and how wonderful it is. The best time to engage is before our game then win the game then talk but he didn’t, then to try chip away post game after a defeat is a bit embaressing.
As they say, It’s only Spurs lads...
Klopp doesn’t do mind games and won’t mind one bit, he owns them.

He isn’t world champion like our German.

Objectively it’s Flick 100% Klopp even said so.

But I just love how much it winds other fans up 😀

Having said that if Klopp wins another CL/PL this season he has a strong claim to being the best manager of the last 10 years.
