Its a luxury problem to have really. It also means that we dont have to rush Matip back but can let that ankle injury heal properly.

Klavan has been excellent in the last 2 games. Klopp said this summer that his quality would surprise people and that obviously been true these last few weeks. Didnt know what to expect but if he keeps this up he's a great back up to have in the squad.
 
Ya I actually expected a lot based on what Klopp said but he was poor against Burnley and a league cup game and then Lucas got in ahead of him and did really well. However he's taken his chance brilliantly and would be super harsh to drop him now
 
We have two games in 48 hours coming up, so I imagine he'll rotate between the three for that.

He has been superb since getting back in and is surely a prime reason Lucas has decided to move on.

Everyone on here should love him for that alone.
 
Yeah hes classy, what I like most about him over his predecessors is that he actually seems half-intelligent.

Matip and Klavan for £4m plus whatever the former's signing-on fee was, was undeniably great business.
 
Oh how I've missed having intelligent defenders in our team.

Just thinking about Sakho and Skrtel makes me shudder.
 
At the moment Matip will need to wait before getting his place back in starting XI because this guy hasn't put a foot wrong.

Unless Klopp decides to go 3 at the back, which I don't see him doing, then he'll need to rely on 1 of Lovren/Klavan having a mare.

Klavan is very calm and experienced and clever...he knows when to turn into 'no nonsense' defending mode and just clear it.
