On Micah Richards: "I had him when he was 16 and he was a man then, so God knows what he is now. A bigger man probably"

Made me chuckle anyway..

God, I thought you were going to suggest him as the next Liverpool manager when I clicked on the link!

My fave KK quotes;

1. "He's using his strength, and that is his strength, his strength"
2. "I'd love to be a mole on the wall in the Liverpool dressing room at half time"

If Keegan as a person wasn't so weak, pathetic and unable to deal with any pressure at all he wouldn't be a bad manager. In footballing terms his record isn't that bad!

Sadly he is all the things I have suggested above which means he's shit really.

Well given that countless players have lined up to claim he knows nothing about tactics (something Keegan's admitted himself) and was little more than an 'extra player' on the training ground, that's not really true.

Well I'm not going to put too much effort into defending Kevin Keegan, because as I said he's really not very good but if you look at his record he's done better than lots of others.
Promotion with Newcastle, 2nd place in Premier League, promotion with Fulham, promotion with City, qualification for Euros with England.
Yes he is very clearly flawed personally and tactically but there are much worse managers around and ones who have much worse records.

As I say though, its kinda sounding like I rate him, which I very much do not, so I'll stop there.

Keegan would be an awful replacement for Benitez, Richey.

I feared someone might think I was suggesting that. I WASN'T!
Keegan is shit. I was just saying he has had his successes.

Keegan was a great motivator at Newcastle - made them believe as no one else has ever done, and ALMOST won the league with a newly promoted side. Since then, his psyche's kind of unravelled, and his tactical inflexibility (attack! attack! attack!) has been horribly exposed. But none of that should alter the fact that he was kind of heroic in his first couple of seasons at Newcastle.

But in charge of LFC? Come on.

Maybe he'd make a good attacking 'coach', at least in terms of getting a team to play decent football. His sides have always attacked fairly well and scored goals. It's just his overall tactical awareness and complete lack of discipline defensively. Soft as shite.
