Middlesbrough’s teenage sensation Cameron Park is a surprise target for new Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish.
The 18-year-old left winger only made his Championship debut last Saturday when he came on as an 83rd-minute substitute in the 4-0 win over Bristol City at Ashton Gate.
And Liverpool scouts saw Park make an immediate impact when he won a last-minute penalty as he was sent sprawling by keeper David James. Liverpool have already been in contact with Boro about the England youth international.
Park is the latest exciting young left winger to come off their production line following Chris Brunt, Stewart Downing and Adam Johnson.
They tied Park down to the summer of 2015 when he signed a four-and-a-half-year contract in December.
Manager Tony Mowbray said: "Cameron is a young player with lots of potential who can hopefully make an impact at first-team level eventually."
First team coach Mark Proctor added: "We are pleased with how Cameron is developing and, if he continues to work hard and perform to his potential, his progression will accelerate even more quickly."
TRICKY teenager Cameron Park has the potential to make a big impact on the first team scene in years to come, says manager Tony Mowbray.
The Marske-born England youth international was on the bench for the visit of Hull City on Saturday and would have come on at some point but for the testing conditions at the Riverside.
But Mowbray is hopeful that if he keeps progressing, he could be the next player to step up from the Academy.
"It's fair to say he's a talent," said the Boro manager. "But I don't want to build him up to put any extra pressure on him. He's just a young boy who is in the mould of some pretty good young players who have come through at this club in recent years.
"He's a dribbler, someone who beats legs and feet and who would take the ball forward, but Saturday wasn't a day for dribbling in the snow.
