Times reports:
[article]Liverpool are set to save millions on Naby Keita’s summer transfer fee as RB Leipzig struggle to win a place in Europe.

It is understood that Liverpool will pay about £48 million for the midfielder if Leipzig end up seventh or below.

That rises to £52.75 million should they qualify for the Europa League, which they are on course to do, and £59 million if they earn a place in the Champions League.[/article]

Nice saving!

So by playing worse this season than last, Keita is actually saving his future team money? Why would Leipzig agree to this kind of clause in the contract?

Well, agents usually gain a percentage/commission for transfers so he’ll be telling Keita to get on with it.
And I doubt Keita would care one bit about Liverpool saving a few million. Why would he?

Bundesliga pundits say he was not as good this season – showed his class at times, but also a bit lazy or lacking in spark at various points of the season.

it was more the beginning of the season. he seemed peeved that the move didn't go through and fell out with team mates, stropped on the pitch etc. since then he has got on with it and been excellent

I trust no pundits. They say one thing one week, and the complete oposit next week. Take Shearer i.e. and how he claimed Everton deserved a penalty one week while we should not have a penalty against them in the cup as football is a contact sport another week. Fuck "Pundits" and "experts".

However, I do trust you Rurik. So how has he been this season?

This price structure was widely reported last year when it was confirmed that we had signed him. Leipzig were flying at that time, so in hindsight this has worked in our favour. I reckon Keita just didn't put in 100% since January when we were trying to get him ahead of schedule, and it might be no coincidence Leipzig's form has dipped since then.
