There's a few reports flying around coming out of Russia at the moment that we have made serious enquiries into purchasing Keisuke Honda.
I've seen him play for Japan on many occassion and was fortunate enough to see both him & Kagawa line up for Japan in Australia. Whislt Kagawa was very impressive, Honda himself was just as good. The lad was extremely hard to track as he constantly floated from left, right and centre midfield, even interchanging with Kagawa and playing up top on the last man.
Japan under Zaccheroni play beautiful football ... it's all on the ground, quick 1-2's, players constantly interchanging position ... he would have no problems coming into the club under Rodgers. I'd have him up top on the right hand side, where we have had Suso playing the past few games ... he is perfect for that position.

One of CSKA Moscow leading players, 26-year-old midfielder Keisuke Honda, is subject to strong interest from one of the most renowned clubs in Europe - Liverpool FC. THe English club intends to strengthen their midfield and striker options during the winter transfer window and are seriously ready to meet CSKA's demands for the midfielder
It's no secret that Honda in the past two years, has been attracting attention from a host of European clubs. Every now and then there is information about interest in the midfielder from British clubs Tottenham and Manchester United, Italian giants Milan, Juventus and recently Lazio. Now Liverpool will try to convince CSKA to sell the Japanese midfielder, a key leader at the club.
Honda himself has repeatedly said that he would like to try his hand at one of the leading English clubs. The Japanese believes that is ripe for the transition, but it is very serious about the choice of his future club. In particular, at a time when Lazio showed interest in Keisuke, he openly declared that he was prepared to consider options for a possible departure, but the transition to the Roman club was not part of his plans.
The manager of Liverpool is not only interested in Honda for his football ability, but also interested from a commercial point of view. At home in Japan, the sport has a significantly strong following, and Keisuke is considered the most popular player in the country - ahead of Shinji Kagawa. Given this fact, the marketing department of Liverpool will be well aware of how big the Asian market could open up for the team in case of arrival of Honda. Attracting strong Asian players already yielded considerable profit for Manchester United, for which Korean superstar Park Ji-Sung played, who was then replaced by the main Japanese soccer talent Shinji Kagawa.
