Juventus are confident they will be able to sign Emre Can on a free transfer in the summer, the Serie A side having offered the Germany international a five-year contract worth £85,000 a week and a sizeable signing-on fee.

The 23-year-old is out of contract at the end of the 2017-18 season and has been unable to agree a new deal with Liverpool. The Germany international is wanted by a host of top European clubs but Juventus believe they have stolen a march on everyone else and that a deal will be concluded soon.

The Turin club has held positive talks with Can’s representatives with the player seeking reassurances of how he fits in to Max Allegri’s plans.

Can joined Liverpool for £9.75m in 2014 after the Premier League club met the buyout clause in his contract with Bayer Leverkusen. He has won 20 caps for Germany, having made his debut in September 2015.

Juventus were interested in signing Can in January but were told by Liverpool that there was no chance of that happening.

Liverpool have already signed a central midfielder for next season with Naby Keïta arriving from RB Leipzig for a fee in the region of £55m.

That's a salary of over £20m for the 5 years where The Lying Rag shines

Manure will be buying him for a hundred million next year. They seem to think players who do well in Italy are good and not just lumbering shithouses who spend all week in the hairdressers

Surely our offer is more than £85,000? Very annoying to lose a player like Can.

If he wants to go let him.
He's served out his contract, done well but Klopp's doesn't rate him that much.

I think the lack of uproar over this says it all really, half arsed, one in ten player who's more arsed about his looks than putting in a shift.

I think some if it is also the fact that there's no surprise in the news since it has been rumoured for over six months

Well I was equally not arsed six months ago. And I don't recall mass hysteria then either.

A very inconsistent player who can have moments of brilliance .. but more often than not doesn't and on whom we can comfortably upgrade. Losing him on a free is a bummer though.

For 9 M pounds initial pay, and then 35K a week I think we got away cheap on this guy. He has developed well, so it would be nice to have something back. But I can live with that. Torino is not too fun anyway.

Sky Sports saying the deal is done. Not arsed. Would rather have Milner in the team over him any day, he's a plodder.

[article]Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has reached an agreement to join Juventus in the summer, according to Sky in Italy.

The 23-year-old Germany midfielder is out of contract this summer and is free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club, having entered the final six months of his current deal.

Sky Italy understand Can has agreed terms with the Italian side after holding advanced talks on Thursday.[/article]

Dont care about Can in isolation but news of him and Coutinho leaving in the same window would leave a negative feeling around the club despite signing VVD

On the flip side I hope we dont rush into anything big to appease the fans

Emre Can included I genuinely am not bothered if any of our CMs leave, they're all just ok, and are all very replaceable.

he agreed to move clubs 24 hours before the derby?
what a cunt.

can we force him on a 6 month loan to whichever championship side is lucky enough to have Tony Pulis' brand of football and Sunday league outfit ?

Well, it is a world cup year so if he has international ambitions he should still be pushing hard for the rest of the season. We need to squeeze the can like Popeye for the rest of the season.

I think old Emre just wanted this kind of protracted goodbye, whereas what he deserves is a quick wave and then a slam of the door.

I wish his future career the same kind of fate as the end of this clip.
