Tonight unlucky not to score 5.

On the whole not good enough. When you get a class team together you pick up points when you don't deserve to. When you've got weaknesses all over the field and can't finish chances then you'll get the odd game where you are unlucky and will be punished for your deficiencies.
This is Benitez's 5th season, this is his squad. We all know he should have been given more money in the summer, but the squad is still 2 or 3 years behind where it should be in terms of personnel. There are too many wank, mediocre players at the club while too many talented players have been allowed to leave, many through bad man management. I like Benitez, I really do, but I don't think we will progress beyond what we did last season under him, and we may well be doomed if we weren't to get top 4 this season - which is looking ever more likely.

Utd lost Ronaldo and Tevez and they are 5 points off.
Not good enough. Players get injured, hoping that won't happen is not getting unlucky it's not planning properly.

Both, I think we've been genuinely unlucky in almost every game we've lost and today drawn, coupled with not good enough at how leaky we've been:at the back giving away moronic amounts of sloppy goals.
Spurs - Conceded set-piece x 2 (1 amazing free-kick Assu Ekotto will never score again in his life)
Villa - Conceded set-piece x 3 (inc deflected free-kick and header in first half stoppage time)
Sunderland - Beach footie
Chelsea - Didn't play badly enough to lose, but were outmuscled overall

Vikas, you can't include set pieces for being unlucky. You have to defend them. We can't. And we can't score them either for that matter. That's incompetence, not bad luck.

My post was probably worded a bit rubbish in post-match frustration, what I'm trying to say is that conceding that many set-pieces isn't unlucky, its stupid and is the result of players not doing basic things well enough. We've been unlucky in losing to spectacular goals out of nothing, getting injuries to the players we need most, and having calls go against us. Our first team should be a match from anyone, but bad-form at the back and injuries have crippled us more than anything, and overall with the very particular formation we play, we've been hit harder than the others.

Oh yeah ok I get you. Yeah thunderbolts out of nowhere is hard luck, but I'm sure we've been the beneficiaries of more than a few screamers in recent years and we wouldn't regard them as good luck. It's just one of those things. We had chances tonight and didn't take them. We defended poorly and got punished. That will happen at the top level.
